Marvel approved!!

I already have AARP, but honestly at my age I've never been thrilled about handing over an AARP card. This Marvel card is going to be my new go to for dining and it's also going to get a workout supporting the Dollywood season passes we bought for this year.

Approved for 3k and instantly called Credit Solutions for a 2X bump to 6K. Obviously I went for the awesome Spiderman on the black background!

This makes three new accounts in rapid succession. After Delta, BlisPay, and Marvel my AAOA is going to take a nose dive. Comenity isn't going to be very happy with me!

I'm actually contemplating closing AARP now. I really wont have any use for it once this card arrives. There's just a sentimental attachment because I've carried it for so long. It would be nice to free that limit up to move over to Freedom thgouh.

It would seem the AARP is redundant now with your Marvel, but you could say the same for having Fidelity and Double Cash (and Blispay). Even the paypal extras card could be redundant. I see a few cards in your lineup you could trim.

I'm not really using Fidelity for the 2%. It is my highest limit at 25k and I get a constant stream of BT offers on it so it has my balance parked on it. I never actually swipe it. The DC is definitely redundant and I'm not a huge fan of Citi so yes, just like AARP it may get cut at some point. I would like to feel more confident as to BlisPay's future behavior first, but I predict they will be solid and be around for awhile. PayPal Extras hasn't served a real purpose for me since I obtained AARP. I have it linked to my eBay account and at this point just keep it around for its age and to be honest sentimental value really more than anything.

Yes there is much trimming I could do, I'm just not quite a fan of the current card closing trends of late. I'm kindof more old school in my thinking that if there's no AF a card is only helping you by leaving it open to provide further padding, AAOA, and diversity just to name a few. It's not that I have never closed anything because I have. I closed my sub-prime cards like Merrick and Crap 1 and I've also closed cards stuck at unreasonably low limits that refused to budge. I certainly may do some closing at some point, I'm just not a huge fan of the idea. With AARP though I can move the limit to another card and I have plenty of Chase issued cards already and the lowish 3.5k limit on it gets on my nerves considering how much spend I've put through it.

My Marvel card hasn't even come in the mail yet and it has already reported. I know some lenders report quickly and some take forever like AMEX. It's been a long time since I've opened a new Synchrony account so maybe they always report quick.

It still feels weird to me to type "Synchrony" instead of "GECRB".
