NFCU is AMAZING

Quick tidbit about my situation. Went BK, discharged 9/14. Got into NFCU 11/15. Rep on phone said you should apply for the go rewards visa. I said, well, im less than 1.5 years out of BK!? She said, well you should try. I said OK! She put me on hold and VOILA! I had a 600 credit score and less than 1.5 years out of BK and they approved me with 2k!!! I was ecstatic! Fast forward to last week 4/20/16, had my NFCU for 5 months, was on the website checking out my transactions and my point since we are going on vaca I was going to get some gift cards, So, I seen the little increase my credit link. I clicked it, updated my info, put in 10k for amount to increase and hit submit. Next screen said please call custoemr service. I was like damn!!! I figured that was bad news but decided to call. I call and get a rep on the phone. Told him I only have a 620 score but would appreciate any increase. He said you wanted 10k right? I said yup, but I will take anything and I understand if I dont get anything. He verified some info and said let me put you on hold for a minute. I said ok. He came back and said, "wow, they actually offered you more than the 10k!", I said ok, he said they offered you 16k and you will have a grand total of 18k! I calmly said, thats super, Ill take it!!! He finalized everything, I thanked him and hung up and logged back into NFCU and couldnt believe my eyes! 18k credit line, 17k+ was available!!! I thought I was dreaming!! I have a first savings card for 500, merrick bank for 1100, credit one for 500 and walmart for 500. that was it besides the nfcu 2k. can you believe a 16k increase with a 620 score. 1.5 years out of BK? NFCU is the best ever. Couldnt be happier, seriously! Just amazing. So, wanted to share my story!!!! I am 39 and this is the biggest CL I have had in my LIFE. Just amazing.....

thanks! been almost a week and still cant believe it! Friends cant either! A buddy of mine has a discover with a 10k limit and he has a 793 credit score with one of the bureau's. He doesn;t understand it either! I dont know, I'm not complaining I just cant believe I received that sort of a limit! Insane!

NFCU also gave me my largest credit line so far ($15.3k) and I was as surprised as you... I recommend them to anybody and everybody who is eligible!

Congratulations!! Navy Fed gave me my largest limit at the time at the very beginning of my rebuild! They have been totally awesome to me! I 💜 Navy Federal!

thanks everyone for the kind words! I just got my wife in and they gave her an intital amount of 6600. Her highest card is 8k. So, they are right there. I figure in 6 months or so I will have her try to get that increased and see what they up that too....Navy federal has been amazing so far. Just got my 2 year old daughter in as well. Once she hits 25 and wants a mortgage or whatever, she will have 23+ years of good standing with them plus Im sure a decent size credit card as well. At least thats what they told me! Shes a full member now so im a happy dad.....
