topic GM buypower SL...SERIOUSLY?? in Credit Card Approvals

GM buypower SL...SERIOUSLY??

Today I apped for the GM card because the wife wants a Cadillac in a year and I figured with the low limits I will put her on as an AU and this will be perfect....I love her to death BUT can take a Credit Limit as a CHALLENGE! lol So normally I put her on one of my AMEX's so I can choose a low limit for her, and it all works out....fast forward to this morning after always hearing on these boards how low the limits are.....I applied, waited and BAM $15,000 COME ON I DON'T NEED THAT MUCH.....crap another great idea shot to heck....And I am guessing that Cap 1 will not let me put a different (LOWER) limit on this card.....Well so much for the low limit myth....LOL

With 800+ scores, $15k is kind of low

You apply for Venture and you are likely to get $50k!!

CA I applied for a Venture two months ago and was DENIED....I had to email CO and have them manually review, after that they gave me 5K so go figure on that one!!

LOL thanks fordguy, maybe they know I have had Corvette's all my life.....But the Caddy is for the MRS......

So Capital One lied to me, big surprise. My last CLI in January 2016 was "cut back" from my request with the statement that $11k was the maximum CL they offer for the GM card. Obviously that's not true, why am I not surprised?

Congrats on your approval and nice limit (I still like the card and I still dislike Capital One)

Congratz Gregg I am so jealous because I am getting a Cadillac in either May or June and I am fighting myself right now as to whether I should get it or not...I am scared off because I've read about the horrendous low limits Cap1 gives on this card. I want the card to pay for my TTL for my new Cadillac XT5

You know, I am almost 100% sure that if you'd like a lower limit, all you need to do is call and ask them to lower the credit line.
