Finally in with BOA

Today I saw that BOA has taken out the 99$ fee for the 99 for 500 card. I don't like the idea of having a secured card, but I really wanted to get in with BOA. I have heard that you can switch this card for a rewards card. Is there anyone that can tell me what I need to do to have this done, as I would like to be able to get some kind of rewards for my $39.00 yearly fee

If you have the 99 for 500 card, please give me a few hints as to getting it switched to a rewards card or getting it unsecured before one year with a credit line increase.

I took the same offer as it was sent to me at the end of my last big spree. It certainly gets us in with BoA. From what I've been reading, give it a year and request the rewards unsecured.

I applied yesterday 5/10 and funds were taken out today 5/11 So they were very quick!

apped for the avg card, denied and said i was preapproved for the 99$ one. i said what the hell lost a HP anyways. see what happens.

Congratulations!! I have the 99/500 card but can't really give you any tips other than to use it. Mine still hasn't graduated yet and I've had it for 14 months (I rarely use it though). I also wasn't successful getting it changed over to cash rewards (which is why I don't use it). Some people have luck calling in a few times, but I'm not that persistent

Congrats with getting in with Bank of America. I just got in with them too - first major bank and unsecured. Hoping Chase and Citibank will follow suit!

I don't know what the "Switch" Policy is with BofA.

I applied for a regular Unsecured BofA Red Rewards 3-2-1 Card

and they declined me but countered with a Secured version. I grabbed it

quick because I knew I was seeing a UNICORN. The 99/500 Rewards card is very Rare.

It is the only way I know you can get one. ie: Get declined for the

regular one on-line application but get offered the Secured one immediately right then and there.

But look at it this way,,,regardless you're in with BofA and that a Great Thing!

I have had my card for 6 months. I called and they are refunding my $99 and gave me a cli of $500

Congrats on the approval and welcome to the BofA CC family.

To convert to rewards, perform the following steps:

1. Grab your favoriite snack (popcorn, chips, fruit, whatever...)

2. Relax on your favorite couch or recliner, make sure you're feet are propped up

3. Make sure your cell phone is charged or cordless phone has full battery

4. Memorize the secured credit analysts back door number

5. Call / make request / nod your head as they tell you it's not available / hang up

6. Repeat Step 5 until rewards are added (although, you may want to perform life essential activites between those calls)

7. After step 6, relish in the victory and report your results
