Holy Crap! Just got approved for AMEX Hilton!

I'm dying over here! I had applied for AMEX in Feb and was denied, when my score was 623, unbeknownst to me. I started being more involved on this forum and others, checked my credit, got my util down and have been paying in full on every card! My score is now 651 and I love Hilton and I'm a HHonors member so I really wanted this particular card plus who doesn't want to be in with AMEX?! My score is now 651. Only $1000 CL, but I'll take it! heheheheheheehee. I know your FICO snobs are rolling your eyes, but I'm ecstatic! Have a great day everyone!

I think that because I'm a HHonors member, it helped. From a marketing perspective, it makes sense to offer cards to people who use your product already.....i.e. Delta, United, etc.....

Congrats on the approval!! I was approved for the Amex Hilton in April 2016 and was SO excited!! It was not an instant approval though - I received a msg stating that I needed to call in. I could not call that day because it was after hours. I woke up the next morning and received an mail that I was approved for a CL of $1.4k. Not a huge CL but I was just glad to be approved - this is my first Amex so I was stoked!! I applied when the signon bonus was 75k points so the deal was even sweeter to me.

I only stay at Hilton Brand hotels and travel a few times a year so I was already a Silver member before being approved for the card. I love the idea of earning points towards stays at my favorite hotel.
