$500 Chase Slate

I was looking at my gf's CK site the other day, and she got a big boost in her FAKO score there, and Chase Slate showed up with 'fair' approval odds. Out of curiosity, I went to their prequal site and sure enough, she prequal'd for a Slate or Freedom card. We went for the Slate, hoping we could xfer her Cap One card balance since it's 0 APR for 15 months, and she was approved, but for only $500.

Her current FICO scores are 608 EQ, 615 TU and 616 EX. The only baddies on her CR are a few medical collections.

We tried to app for the Freedom right after, but got the 7 to 10 day message.

Congratulations!! That has to be the lowest score I have ever seen get approved for the Slate and the lowest SL I have ever seen on a Slate. Planets must have aligned during your app. Big Congrats to you guys.

Congrats on the approval. You can try another CLI in 6 months.

Congratulations! You got very lucky! They usually won't approve anyone with ascore that low! At least you are in with Chase......take care of that card and it will increase!

Try apply for the Sapphire and do a recon to get a $5k limit

ficoguy2013 that is not wise in this situation with those scores and a $500 Slate approval plus a 7-10 day msg for Freedom which often results in denial.

OP congrats! Nice to get a foot in the door with Chase. All CLI requests will be HP but once theres a little history and score improvement maybe apply for a different Chase card, they are very easy to work with combining and/or moving limits around.

Thanks, everyone. My g/f had a super thin credit profile about 4 years ago. Basically, just a few small medical collections. Since then, we've got her name on 2 car loans, she has 2 Cap One ($3500, started at $3000 and $850, started at $500) cards, the Chase ($500) card, and recently did the SCT to get Wayfair ($500), Overstock ($1000), Pottery Barn ($1500) and Bealls ($350, clothing store).

Her score is sitting just a hair under 620, mainly because of high balances on the Cap One cards. I'm hoping when the rest of this unused credit starts reporting that it boosts her score.
