And got approved for the Citi Double Cash card! Yay! Only a $1000 limit though...is a recon a good idea after I get the actual card?

Congrats! When I app for Citi DC I got initially denied but I reconned and called EO and was approved for $5700 SL. Give it a try. Make sure you call EO. Goodluck.

If your confident your profile is pretty good i also say give the EO a whirl.

They have been known to be pretty good to work with.

Congrats, I was approved in 1/16 with a low limit ($2.8k) and after reading successes of others, I tried a cli through the the website and was denied and told to try again in 6 months. Everytime I check for a cli online it states it will be a HP.

My wife was approved in 12/15 ($1.5k) and from the start she was offered SP cli. We tried twice and were denied. Last week, we tried again and she received a $1300 SP cli. Both of our approvals were instant.

Well sadly the EO call didn't help with an increase. The lady said they would have to pull my credit again in order to review it which I really didn't want another hp after they just pulled it yesterday (-6 EQ and -1 EX, not a huge hit but I'm trying to build). Sadly I guess I will have to use the 1k limit and hope citi is kind, especially as I want to make this my primary use card save for gas and groceries. I will put a lot more than 1k through this card per month.

Congrats on the approval, you can recon since you already took a hit with a HP, but they could ask you for another HP

Well at least you tried and Woo Hoo on the approval. There is no shame.... when you get the cli you will know it was from your own blood sweat and tears and victory will be all that much sweeter. I belive they are one of those companies that will always do a hard pull for a cli. Don't quote me on it.
