BofA Cash Rew & Travel Visa - CLIs!

My dad opened these cards back in feb of this year, pulled TU at 825 (although they said his score was a 829, must be the TU glitch). Aside from his high score, he does have a lot of new credit reporting within the past 6 months. both requests used the same pull.

First ill start with the Cash Rewards card, requested a CLI last friday, asked to go from 12k to 25k, went to pending. Since it was after hours on friday, he called today, after a 5 min hold the analyst came back with a counter of 21.6k.

He called back 20 mins later and asked about the Travel Rewards card CLI request, he requested it go from 21k to 35k, was told it went to pending because of the Fraud Alert on his TU, once verified, approved for the full 35k. ~~He will likely call back in a bit and ask for 40k or 45k.~~ He called and asked, the analyst said he was denied, "Too many recent requests for credit" and "Max exposure for your income and credit history". So max exposure is hit with BofA for him.

BofA pulls are usually good for 30 days, so right before this one expires he plans on calling in and consolidating both cards for a 55k+ CL.

Congrats but that's a lot going on in less than a year. IMO, hold off requesting combining for 55K, more time is needed and they may look more closely to recent open credit and that would be as some would say poking the bear. BOA is known for taking everything back upon review of excess open credit limits and inquires.

Congrats but I'd echo the "slow down" warnings. Too much too soon just isn't good and BOA is known to take things away if they sense risk. Calling in and asking for things doesn't always help.

My thoughts exactly...my BoA CashRewards and Travel Rewards are at $1 & $2k spectively...I hope that in time BoA shows me the same kinda luv!
