I've had the same experience with one big limit and one little with AmEx. My Delta AmEx was at 30k and my approval for BCP was $2k. I reallocated part of my CL from Delta to BCP and the did CLI down the road, but it took time. And FWIW, the limit for the original approval was the real limit for my card, not a temporary starting limit.

Got approved today for BCE for $2000. I'd hoped I would've received a similar limit to my Everyday which is at $7000.
Got the everyday a year ago with the same starting limit. I figured they would start me at a better limit on my second card. Especially since I put a descent spend through it and I just paid the $ 1800 balance on it off.
Oh well..... What can you do?

Your absolutely right about that. Didnt mean to sound ungrateful of the approval. Just thought it would be different. Just shows I've got a lot to learn about credit. But I'm learning. Hahaha

$1,800 for the entire year? Or that was just a recent balance?

$1,800 in annual spending on a card is not very much spending in my opinion. While I'm sure it plays a very small part in your recent approval, I do not think it would actually help, especially not in getting a high limit. If it's $1,800 a year and it's evenly spread, that is $150/month. If you spend that on your new cars with 2K limit you're still well under 10% utilization.

No ,that was just my most recent balance. But I've still only put anout 7000 thru the card in the year ive had it. So not a lot but reasonable.

since your Everday is also a revolver - couldn't you ask to reallocate some of it's limit over to the BCE if needed?

I think I can at the 13 month level and new card is 2 months old. Which I'll probably do. Also can ask for cli next month, last was in January. Going on vacation next month to Universal and was hoping for a higher cl as not to get utilization to high. Its expensive to go to Universal. Hahaha
