Amex Blue Cash Preferred Approved

So, I got approved for a Chase Slate card today. I also kept seeing Amex Blue Cash Preferred and its huge 6% cash back on groceries. I started doing research and tons of articles mentioned the Amex Blue Cash Preferred's 6% cash back on groceries and 3% on gas and was a pretty good cash back card for that reason. I like to compartmentalize my sepending, so this card fit in well with what I need. Needless to say I applied and got approved. Not only that, I got a whopping $11k CL! Uhhhh, hadn't planned on spending that much on groceries. But I think that was a bit excessive for what I wanted the card for. Groceries are a part of our budget, therefore the card will be paid in full every month. I just wanted some rewards for eating. Can't beat that right?

Nice!! I have the Amex ED ... wondering if I can product change to this one ... I hear awesome things about it too and gas amd groceries is half my check!

Sweet $11k SL! Just think, in 61 days you can request a $33k limit. That's 3X the groceries you can throw on the card

I think my hieghest FICO score of the three reporting agencies was 741.

I thought about those other cards. I actually have an invitation sitting on my desk from Discover It. But considering how much we spend on groceries and gas I opted for the 6% on groceries. We live in a high cost-of-living area. For a family of three, we spend a little over $450/month on groceries. As my child gets bigger, I'm sure that will increase.

We have one car, but drive it enough to spend a good amount on gas. So, the 3% helps there.

I just don't have the time or patience to track rotating cash-back categories. I'm a set it and forget it person. I just want to swipe like crazy and know that I'm getting cash back without having to check in every quarter.

I would not try to change to that card until I knew I was shot down first. if you get approved (grab bonus) you can close ED. It's free to have and on a points system. Your call there.
