AMEX BCE CLI--Marriott Denied...Again:

Got my BCE 1.5 years ago right before backdating ended. Had tried for increases a few times in the past and met with failure. Tried again last night for the first time in about 8 months and asked to go from $10K to $17K----APPROVED. Was going to go for the full $20K but didn't want to set off any alarms. I'll try for that or more in about 6 more months when the card is 2 years old. Also tried again for Marriott after being denied in May 2015 and was denied again. 99% certain in was b/c of the 5/24 rule b/c my EQ just rebounded to 695 which is more than it was when I was approved for my other 3 Chase cards--and my 2 baddies on my EQ are now gone--which I think was a glitch b/c they weren't due to fall off for 2 and 3 more years.

Nice increase! Congrats. Sorry about the denial on the Marriott but at least the CLI cancels it out!!

@kdm31091: It went to 7-10 day further review screen (denial) almost immediately.. Funny thing was my EX was 695 at time of app-about 20 pts higher than when they approved me for the Hyatt last August--and my UTIL is only at 6%--so I"m pretty cetrain the 524 rule came into play.
