Costco Pending! Update - Approved $9500

I applied one day after joining and got the one week response. I tried calling and they said it still requires further processing and didn't need any more information from me. I don't think that's a good sign? I don't have any negatives and my score range 720-740.

Update: I ended up reaching out to the EO on this one. After speaking with the front line folks they weren't able to help me and advised to check back in 7-10 days. A few hours after the call I got the email:

Good luck! I think you will get it! Right now, you can imagine they are backed up with all of the new cards and still trying to get the cards that transferred to people.

I got pending status and then a decline. Was expecting it though as I have a BK reporting.

I originally applied on Monday this past week and I also got the pending email. I called a few times asking what's going on. By Saturday morning, I got an email from Citi approving my application. I was going to post and ask here but hesitated lol.

Yeah I tried that with a few of the backdoor numbers. They all said there was no additional info needed and I'd have to wait it out.

I received the same message. Joined and app'd on the same day. I was denied at first. Now I've received two emails saying my app requires further processing because they couldn't verify my information. Called the number and they said I should be getting a letter in the mail. Hopefully it's just a verification thing.

Citi is weird like that... with my Diamond Preferred app after a couple of weeks I called one of the backdoor numbers just to be told I would have to wait, then two days later I got an email telling me I had to call them and that all processing had stopped until I did so. <sigh>

When I called them back they basically just verified what I had put on the app, asked me to confirm how I had applied (online) and then asked if they could call me back on my phone (I assume since it's a cell number?)... when they called me back a few minutes later I got the 'approved' news, and the credit line.

My fingers are crossed for you!

I think you might get it B. I applied last week and received this message.

Then the next day I got a TU instant alert and went to check the status again and it changed to this.

Then Friday around 4:30 PM i got a voicemail from Citi with a reference number. I called it back and it was their fraud department. I told the lady I had applied for Costco Visa and it was denied. She said if I wanted further consideration, to fax a copy of my DL, SS card and phone bill along with the reference number. I did do that this am. But then I remember I opened up a Citi checking account online and this verification could be for that although she didnt say it and I had forgetten about it lol.

That's the exact same message I got with my DP... in my case the "one week" language was incorrect - it took nearly three weeks for them to contact me (and there's no way to speed it up, either).

In the end I was approved, though, so I guess I can't complain too much. I agree, I think B335is' chances of approval are good!

Hang in there, B... it will be worth it!
