I just got approved for Amex BCE but...

I was instantly approved for BCE and I like that i'm in with Amex now but whats up with only an $800 line? If u look at my sig u can see i have some high limits. I do know the 61 day cli. Any input on this? I'm still happy im in because when i applied last year they denied me.

Most say recon is useless for Amex, so I'd just go for the 3xCLI in 61 days and then 3xCLI 6 months after. You'll go from $800 to $7200 in 8 months.

Maybe when they saw your $400 orchard they thought it didnt fit?? it does seem low though hows your current util?

Congrats! Strange that you didn't get a bigger limit they must not like something but at least your in. That's the biggest hurdle.

+1. Sometimes AMEX gives out lower limits initally, but they're usally good with CLIs and always soft pulls too.

Yeah im in so thats what i really wanted. I'm not complaining i just at least thought 4 fig easy.

Hey what do u guys think about other cards? I was thinking Quicksilver given the relationship i have with cap1 and then i could close that orch bank card and transfer my balance. Only thing i dont like is they hp all 3.

Congrats. I too got approved with only a 1k credit line. You and I buddy, we will just do the 3xCL and soon we will look back and be like "I still remember when my AMEX was just a lil baby at 1k.... look at you now... 8 months and your already at 9k. How the time flies..." Ok, maybe a bit dramatic, but you get the point.

I don't know if you could do an PC from an orchard card to cap one qs ? That would make it so you wouldn't have to get an hp on all 3 of the CRA. I did an PC from an no hassle reward cap one to the QS. Was pretty easy. I am not sure if you can do that with orchard also.

I don't know if you could do an PC from an orchard card to cap one qs ? That would make it so you wouldn't have to get an hp on all 3 of the CRA. I did an PC from an no hassle reward cap one to the QS. Was pretty easy. I am not sure if you can do that with orchard also.

You can do it now with Orchard! My formerly secured Orchard was unsecured and transferred over to Cap One. Every month I woud click the "see my offers" option and nothing ever came up....however, I was able to chat with a rep on-line and they converted it to the QS with no problems! Even came a World Mastercard, to boot!

Hey Legions...I am going to be applying for an Amex BCE soon as well. I have an idea of what my scores are but would like solid answers before apping. I was wondering, for your fico scores, how did you go about obtaining them? Did you actually pay for each one through this site?

Your scores are a bit higher than mine, but for what it's worth, I started with a $1k line and then got rejected for my 61 day CLI. Hoping they make it up to me next month after my 90 days are up.

I guess that's all to say...YMMV

Nope i already tried to transfer the card or upgrade to another card and the best that they gave me was make it a points cards. This was exec office too.

I have score watch but its for equifax, i did pay for the experian $19.99 but thank god i did because i saw a few things that were negative that shouldn't have been on there, so i didputed them and they were taken off within 2 weeks, thats why i applied today for Amex because i heard they pull experian.
