How should I manage a low limit Citi of 2500? I want this to grow and increase my scores

Take your time. And if the issuer gives you a low limit, go to another one and use the citi once in a while to keep the card active. After some payment history and demonstration of credit responsibility, maybe they'll increase it automatically!

Another DC with a low starting CL. People on the forum have said the DC is most often started at a low limit. Am I glad I didnt go for that Citi card.

They can be tough to figure out. I have the same issue with both of my cards. I really haven't found any way to help myself with them.

I mean, 2% is great, dont get me wrong. But for me, not with a $2.5K start. But hey that's something for most and sure it can grow. When I apped for the TY Premier I had my fingers crossed as it was going through the review process. But I got approved for at $6.8K which I am plenty happy with. For a card with a $95 annual fee and those rewards, I was thinking they had better not low ball me.

Yeah but it's not as great as it sounds:

1. they don't give it you automatically like Barclays and Cap One

2. you don't get the first round of points until the statement

3. you don't get the second round of points until the statement recording your payment

4. redemptions by statement credit don't count as payments for points

5. there's a $25 redemption minimum

6. i've never had any kind of balance transfer option after the first month

7. in 20 months i've had the account i've never been able to get a CLI, and when I app'd for a CLI it was a HP

On my Cap One QS card:

1. i get my cash back as soon as purchase posts

2. i can redeem whenever i feel like it

3. i'm always getting fee-free or interest-free balance transfer options

4. i've gotten auto CLI's and soft pull CLI's

I'm the type of person who doesn't like to sock drawer a card; I like to spread it around and keep them all in play. But I finally SD'd one of my cards last week: the Citi DC.

I've tried using the card a lot and that didn't work. Now I'm going to play hard to get with them and see how that plays out.

For me, $2500 limit is better than my $1200 sl. I even took a hp to try and raise it but no go. Also in my experience, for someone who doesnt spend a great deal, it takes forever to get that usable $25 redemption . I know i put on at least my limit or a little more since i got it but doesnt seem too much potentisl to grow. I am happy though it is a prime legacy card

That Citi tradeline looks good on your Credit Report, no matter the limit
