Ritz Carlton is mine!!!

So after spending the last week or so of debating the pros and cons of this card - I decided to finally apply. It was an instant approval and my SCL is $8.5k. I couldn't believe it!!! This is a far cry from my Chase Slate approval in April 2016 with a SCL of $500.

I was hesitant in applying for the Ritz Carlton cc because I was just approved for the AMEX PLATINUM last month and the AF is $450. BUT I already reaped $300 worth of perks from the Platinum .... reimbursement of a $200 Southwest gift card purchase and the $100 credit for my Global Entry application. I have a few trips coming up in the next 4 months and will take full advantage of the lounge access so before the end of the year I will have exhausted more than $450 in perks. But after reading other posts as well as a recent article on TPG... I realized this is a card I def need to have. What sealed the deal for me is the $300 travel credit, Global Entry application credit (will use it for my fiancée) and the $100 discount on air travel which can be used multiple times.

$4k spend and two complimentary nights... AF $395. I've heard there is a new offer out there with $5k spend, 3 complimentary nights but AF is $450.

Thanks!!! I love Chase from a consumer banking perspective. I have checking accounts with BoA, Cap1 and Citi but Chase is my primary. I've had them since 2012 and they've been awesome and easy to work with. I never get results when I check their pre-qualification site which was kind of disappointing. The one time I did get something it was for the Freedom and the Slate so I app'd for the Slate. When I was approved for such a low CL I was bummed out but determined to make Chase "learn to love me" so to speak. So I used the Slate responsibly and I guess it has paid off!!!

So now I love Chase as a cc lender as well!!

Thank you!!! Now I'm curious if this will bensure a Visa Signature or a Visa Infinite. My CL is below $15k so I guess it will be a Visa Signature?

So I called today and found out that my card will be a Visa Signature. They are currently upgrading all existing accountsite to the Visa Infinite so in a few months I will receive a replacement card.

My account is currently under "partner review". Apparently Ritz Carlton has to verify that my name and information matches the information associated with the Rewards account number. It takes up to 10 days. I was told to call next week to check on the status and at that time I can ask to have the card expedited.
