BOA Cash Rewards Unsecure and CLI Approved!

Ok I have been trying and trying to get my BOA 99/500 Cash Rewards Card to unsecure but I was told I couldn't untill 8/17. Today I called and asked to unsecure my card and to also apply for a CLI. I asked for $7000 but they countered at $2500 so I took it! Not what I wanted but it'll do! What are y'alls thoughts on a BOA CLI Requests when should I request again?

One thing to remember. My BofA cash rewards card was unsecured a few months ago. I called and asked if the $49 AF is still in effect and I was told yes. I was told that I will need to apply for a new card to get rid of the fee or that in some cases you can get it waived permanently.

I got mines permanently waived.

What's your highest limit reporting? Ask them to match it.

My highest is 11k on penfed and 15k on a CLOC.

I just got off the phone, my app to be unsecured is still in the back office and will be reviewed a second time and approved later on today. i might try to call today later on. think I can get it higher baller?

Wait. You didn't call the underwriting dept and speak directly to an analyst? You could have plead your case and immediately gotten an answer that way. Hopefully you get another cli. If not, try again in 6 months. Good luck!

BOA doesn't seem to want to budge on the SL. Guess I'll have to wait it out to try to get a CLI with some good usage! 😑😑

That's ok. Show them good usage and payments and try again in 6 months. It will definitely grow!! I went from $300 to $20k in a yr. 😜

And that's what it takes.

You MUST give that card some usage and show some good hefty payments and such and before you know it that line will balloon for you given all other accounts are maintaining reasonable utilizations.

I've seen new BofA cardholders recently getting really nice lifts and earlier than expected so treat them well and they will return the favor.

Wait a couple of days and call again.

You can ask for lower APR, remove AF, use the same HP to recon the limit. There are several backdoor numbers you can use. Good luck.
