My Once $300 BOA Secured Card is now a $25k Unsecured Tradeline!!

Received a $5k cli on my BOA Cashrewards just now from $20k to $25k. Started as a $300 secured card in Dec 2013. And when it unsecured in 6 months they were happy to eventually match my highest reporting limit at the time of $10k. I will continue to say BOA is one of the best secured cards on the market! Definitely has lots of growth potential.

Congrats on the bump to 25k Baller! Looking back I should have taken the 99/500 offer they gave me last instead of passing on it. Would have unsecured and grown by now. I was fresh off my NFCU, Cap1 and Chase approvals all in the five figure range.

I totally understand you passing it up tho. You already had high limit cards. When I accepted their offer back in 2013, I had just started rebuilding. My highest card was a $3k NFCU. Wow that feels like ions ago! Lol

Nah I think it was more an a pride and ego thing at the time. I was just starting to get nice approvals but in the big scheme of things should have taken it. I burned BoA with CO's for about 8k on two cards in 2007/2008. They were at least willing to do the 99/500 which would have been a foot back in the door with them. Quite a few of you that have taken the secured cards with them have done very nicely once they graduated.

Not necessarily. If you are not afraid to talk to an analyst, call. They will use same hp and you can get more out of them. Ask them to match your highest or at least come as close as possible!

Congrats!! That is awesome!! I am totally jealous. My $400 secured BoA Visa is now a $5k Cash Rewards card but they refuse to give me a CLI. First the luv button was never there. Once it appeared I tried it and was denied. I tried to recon and they told me the $5k is most they are will to extend to me at this time.

I tried for another increase it was denied again and the letter gave me the same excuse. I haven't tried to recon this one yet.

My 1st card long ago,was a BOA secured grew it to like 11k from $300.oo ; best secured card even then...this was pre. 08 crash😁
