I GOT APPROVED DEC 9TH! with 2,000 CL after 4 days in progress

695 was the FICO for approval for the record! about 25% Utili

My experience is to wait and dont rush it calling in.

I'm ready to app for second time for the Skymiles amex gold delta card.

My last app was on nov 5th and denied for three reasons

My fico score at the time 685 sp from sep 25
Length of time with amex at the time 1 month
Inqs... about 10. 3 super recent

Now my exp fico is 712 pulled from this site
Being 3 months amex member. Got gold card and i was just approved to spend 4ks on it

Inqs still about 10 last 6 month. Last recent 1 month ago

What do you guys think about my chances of approval?

It doesn't matter what your chances are, it's crazy to app for an additional Amex in Dec! Wait until Jan 1st to maximize backdating to Jan of your 'Member Since xxxx' year.

And you won't get the miles in Jan? How do you know they will pull a current cr? They can pull one from October or early Nov.

Lexie im hoping their latest sp allows for a HP and then approval... i remember sp denial, hp approval...

Now in the myfico exp report i just bought doesnt show sps... neither my daily exp report service i have... so no clue to know when amex sp... now since sept to now my score has been kinda the same above 700...

I wouldn't app until you know FOR SURE Amex already did a SP for this month but it's not easy to figure out nor cost effective paying for a paper report in the mail every few days. You could just wait until Jan to be on the safe side.

I ordered my exp paper report monday... should be here this week...

My hurry is im short about 30ks miles for my two tickets worth about 2500 boths... the longer i wait the more miles it will require... dw and i have about 125ks miles saved up... the tickets are for Chile.

When is your statement date for your PRG? I find that the sp me right around my statement date for my charge

The 12th of every month. I got approved for the PRG on August 23rd and the sp was sept 25th

I've had a question about app-ing for AMEX and I'll use this thread to ask it: IF and only IF I was going to app (again) for an AMEX card, is it better to do it now or wait until January 1st? BTW-I currently don't have an AMEX card of any kind.

It makes sense that they SPd you 30 days after approval. From then on, it should be around the 10-15th. I would be surprised that on a new charge card they had not SPd you in Oct and Nov

If it's is your first Amex, you want to lock in your MSD of 2013.

If you are an amex member you can win some months by apping on jan...if i app on jan my open date will be jan 2013 instead of August 2013

Agreed. I also suggest applying for an Amex charge card as your first Amex, especially if the Amex you were previously declined for was an Amex revolver. It could make the difference between getting your foot in the door with them for 2013.

I wish I would have taken this advice in my own case. The bonus miles are always tempting, but there's always a chance for a better offer in January.
