Discover Approval during Rebuild

I've been working on rebuilding for myself and DH. He has had a CO Secured since July, is AU on my Discovered Secured and has had Victoria's Secret (SCT) since August. He got a Boscov's on November throught a preapproval letter.

His scores have risen over 15 points, from mid to high 400s to low to mid 600s. This weekend after much research I applied to Amazon Prime Storecard (Approved $800), CO Quicksilver (Approved $500) and the winner was Discover at $1,800. They countered the initial app with a higher interest rate and I accepted. We don't plan on carrying a balance. They pulled Experian, his score was approx 633. He has 3 collections on his report.

We are hoping to buy a house this year and I would say we are on our way.

Congrats to your hubby on his awesome approvals - Discover being the highlight! Very nice SL! Now that you both have plenty of cards, I'd let them age and grow on their own. If you are going for a mortgage this year, I wouldn't apply for any more cards or accumulate any more hp's. Your scores are rising nicely, so that's encouraging in itself. Again, very happy for you two!

Thanks! Yes, that's the plan. Everything I read says to stop apping 6 months out so this was our last chance. We are aiming for August or September.

I'm now going to garden until after the (fingers crossed) house purchase.

Nice approvals Discover seems to be hit or miss in regards to having baddies so be proud of getting in

Thanks, I did a lot of research and I thought he had a good chance but by no means a certainty. I also didn't expect such a good SL.
