Finally a good Discover cli...

My Discover card turned 1 year old this week and finally got a good cli.
When my card was 2.5 months old I got an auto cli of 1000 for a cl of 4500 total. Immediately tried for cli and got an additional 500. After that found out I was on 90 day cycle for which I received an additional 500 to 5000 cl.
Tried again at 90 days and was turned down. Tried again 30 days later which was 2 months ago and was able to get an additional 500 again for a total of 5500.
60 days later,this week, my card match of $128 went on the card for having the card for 1 year and figured what the heck and try for another increase.
My Discover fico showed a tu of 777 and figured that had to be lucky. Put in the info yesterday and got the further review message, 2 business days.
Havent received email yet but got online and found a cl of 10000. A very nice 4500 cli from discover. Hoping I'm finally out of the 500 dollar bucket. Woohooooo

Congrats on the great CLI. The best CLIs i have gotten have always come after 2 day review. I usually hit the button every month after my statement cuts. So far that method has been good for me lately. Good luck with your discover card.

Thanks metech, that was my first 2 day review message. In the past it was always 500 or nothing. Seen other posts with good outcomes after 2 day reviews so excited about what the outcome would be.
And it wasn't bad at all.
I think I'll do your suggestion of trying monthly from hear on out and hopefully see better results this coming year. But I'm definitely not complaining 10000 cl is definitely more than I'll probably ever need. But who doesn't want more. Hahaha

Can confirm that the 2-day message is as good as gold! Have gotten CLIs anywhere from $2000 to $4000 (and I think one was $6000). Most recent one was only $500 so I may be reaching my limit with them, but I hit the button around every 6 weeks and so far have not been denied.

Great job, its very good to know.
I'm trying to get all my bank cards to 10000 or above and this just added another one.
Citi keeps refusing me any cli every six months citing they need another credit report to consider it. Tried that route last summer and was still denied so that will never happen again. Have 2 of there cards and their not getting anywhere.
Have 2 Chase cards that aren't going anywhere also and have had them 5 years and have never gotten any increases. Think it's time to trim some of these cards that aren't going anywhere.

I would say you've managed to get past the $500 barrier at this point. Once you start seeing higher CLI's from Disco it's almost like the flood gates have opened up. Put them on your calendar for every 2 months to hit the button and you should be pretty successful. As to Citi/Chase though... that's par for the course for most.

Well AverageJoe when you put it that way maybe its not so bad.
I guess I'm just a grumpy Norse god and thought they took to long to see it my way Hahaha..
They dont realize how close they were to having my mighty hammer dropped on them.

Congrats on the decent CLI.

I can't wait to start working my and my mom's Discover cards and getting them up there with the big boys. I'll bet Discover will be my first major card to break the $10K barrier

But man does it take a while. My scores 3 yrs ago were around 680 when I purchased a car and was having trouble getting decent approval because of it.
Was told if my score was 10 points higher it would have been much easier.
A year later I found this site and because of all the great people on here I was able to get them were they are today. Takes time and vigilance. Now have 4 cards in that 10000 or above range.
