Started using amazon a little more now that I have a prime membership. Got an offer for the Visa signature and was instantly approved for a 5k limit. I also got a $70 gift card i used for my purchase.

After I was approved I found out it was a Chase card. I was well over the 5/24 with chase. I was just approved for Chase Slate last month. So I'm sitting at 6/24 prior to apping for this card. I'm now at 7/24. I just wanted to get that out there for data point for people that use Chase. Seems like the 5/24 rule applys most of the time but if you're a good customer with solid credit they sometimes wave it.

You'd think chase would make that decision tho since they are the ones responsible for the debt. I can't think of a better explanation tho so maybe you are right

I know when i applied for this Chase card, it was pretty prevalent on the app that i was applying for a Chase card. Just wondering if you could clarify that in case there may be another poster considering apping for Amazon and they understand there are two different banks. Thanks!!

I apped on the Amazon web site when I was checking out. The Amazon logo was on the card and the Visa Signature was. I looked at the basics of the agreement. APR, AF, ect. I didn't scroll down to where it said chase. I've looked at this card a few times and seemed like a good card. Just did not really think it was chase.

I went onto my agreement and the only thing that says anything about chase is one sentence that says:

For more information about Chase rewards categories, see www.Chase.com/RewardsCategoryFAQs.

I read somewhere that the Chase 5/24 rule does not apply to co-branded cards. Perhaps that's why your Amazon Prime cad was approved?
