I don't mean to be petty (someone just used that word so it comes to mind) but when ppl make Approval posts it would be very helpful to know things like what CRA they pulled, Utilization, number of INQs, and relevant info on your reports like baddies or AAOA... etc...

It's so frustrating to search and read about approvals and not find any of that info. After noticing this I have been seeing it daily.

So hopefully nobody takes offense to this-just hoping for the Posts to become more helpful to others.

@musiclover.... good point. I know we all aren't looking. I'm not always looking to app for a card I see in an approval post but people get yelled at on here for not "using the search button" .... and if people are going to get "scolded" for not searching, maybe they do search but the info isn't in the post.
That being said.... I see your point on people being excited.

@austin....There is a post for a lot of things on here. I've seen that one just thought I would ask since not many appear to follow that post. If we aren't supposed to post things that already have a post nobody would post anything anymore

I find searching on google yields better results than using the MF search function. You can even search with a specific user in mind or whatever details you're looking for and get better resutls. The forum isn't the best of tools when it comes to finding the details specific to your needs sometimes. But just posting what are my odds, what limit do you, should i, could i, etc. are just a shot in the dark since we're not the lender. Scores aren't everything when it comes to yielding an approval though most seem to think so. What's needed is just spending some time following the trends and if you do search on here for something sort by date is better than bestmatch since the best match might be several years old.

I actually agree with all of you. I don't think there is any harm in chatting and having conversations on here- I do it all the time myself. It's what makes it fun to come on here.

I just thought if the approval posts had more data on them they would not only help the newbies more but also help everyone when it is cards not talked about much. And sometimes even tho let's say, US Bank pulls TU, I have had them double pull me and also had them pull EQ once.

My point was not that we shouldn't talk or ask questions... or not that we should only use google. (AJC my comment on google was more that the search on here sucks sometimes and google gets better results)

I guess it was only that Posts should include as much data points as possible so when anyone searches they can find things out.

As I said in the first post I didn't mean for this post to get out of hand or cause problems or have anyone think negatively...
it is only that even tho this board has become (and happily, trust me) a social place or is also an informative place. I just thought it could be both.

Didn't mean to offend or upset anyone if I did.

Once you have been on here and educating yourself about credit in general, it's pretty easy to take a guess as to whether you'll be approved or not. 99% of the time my gut hasn't steered me wrong. You know how credit scoring works, which lenders are more conservative, etc, after some time on here.

So I guess I don't really feel the need for every detail of an approval, and like austinguy said, things change rapidly anyway.

Well, for everyone who says they don't care or need data points on approval posts-then be sure not to get mad or snap at posters when they ask who someone pulls, or what score is needed, or if a creditor is INQ sensitive. We will have 1000 posts on every lender with no real data points and I guarantee people will start snapping. It happens enough as it is.

That being said-if I am outnumbered and nobody wants that info-that's cool. I can keep going to CB for data on that stuff. Just thought it was silly we have our own board but when we want approval info we have to go to CB and read the CB Database.

However, If that is your response, why wouldn't you take a moment to search and provide a link to a relative thread discussing the OP's question?

I think with those big 4 most of us can have a general feel in comparison to ones own profile, though like Kdm says, theres so much more in each persons profile. Irregardless, good thread , heck maybe next person who reads this thread when they post their next approval might just add that small key that helps the next poster. One helped is a battle worth winning

@AvgJoe ...+1000 on this one too...as KDM says there are a lot of variables and the knowledge we've gained by spending time on here, comes directly from other members sharing info, data points, etc...so @Anonymous that "gut feeling" wouldnt be possible with out the ones who came before you and the knowledge you gained from their posts...

As for the "small key" I point again to my Ritz Card Thread from late September, without the info and sharing (including data points) and the context, when where what how why etc...I would have let it go, but because of two other members and their willingness to share, I ended up with my largest SL approval to date...

If I have a point to this and my prior posts, I'd sum it up with this: When writing an approval post or giving feedback to a member, I assume the reader will probably be new to credit, new to the forum, new to rebuilding etc...that way it can help everyone, from the least to the most knowledgeable.

Stepping off my soap box now...hoping I don't trip

Cheers!

Posting while traveling out of the country just now. Hope all is well with everyone and I did want to add anothet important perspective. There have been quite a few times on myfico where a poster has been bashed or lectured for sharing information that may be sensitive or personal. Most myfico members are really great and won't do that, but I've heard quite a few posters mention that they no longer share personal information due to this. So it's something that may factor in.

Another possibility is that a poster may not know which bureau was pulled. Not eveyone has immediate access to all 3 bureaus right after applying.

Good post dj and definitely helpful for encouraging dialogue. Have a great day, everyone!
