So my wife recently was declined for her first NFCU card. Here is a copy of the secure recon message and their reply which took less than 24 hrs. Navy Rocks!

Subject: Recent credit card application
Navy Federal Response 12/17/2016 :
Thank you for your inquiry as to why your recent credit application was not approved. Because we take our members concerns seriously, we conducted a second review of your application. We are pleased to inform you that your recent credit card application has been approved for $24,000.00. Your new credit card has been issued to your address of record and should be received within approximately seven to ten business days. You will have access to your new account through Navy Federal Online in 24-48 business hours.
If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know, or if you prefer, you may also call us toll-free any time at 1-888-842-6328.

Your Message 12/16/2016 : I recently applied for a Visa card from you and was denied. I am already the secondary on my husbands account but wanted to establish my own account. My scores are around 700 with no negatives of any kind for the past 4 years. My husband has the same history and scores and was given a card. I would like to ask for reconsideration in approving this application. Thankyou in advance.

I assume you have to be a member in order to apply for a NFCU credit card.

Yes u do have to be a member to apply. She is a member and is listed as a secondary on my Visa account. Not only did she get approved but her ICL is higher than mine which is at 17.5 k.

Do a search here on the forum for NFCU and Navy Leage of San Diego and you'll find your answers and your way in without your father's info.

I just login, click on Messages up top right side I think it is, and then click to send a message. Fill in reason to send message, title, and your message.

Hi Dashaun. Welcome to MyFico Forums. There is wealth of information here.

To do a Secured Message, click on accounter services, then under Account Management, click on Send Us a Message. This should take to the part of the site that lets you send messages.
