Nordstrom Siggy Upgrade and CLI

After reading a recent post from Pizza1 (thank you so much, btw), I decided to call Nordstrom to determine if my card was eligible for an upgrade. Just to provide some history on this account, I have had the card for two years. The opening limit was $2.5k. After four months, they auto increased my limit to $5k. After the seventh statement closed, I called to request an upgrade and I was denied but received an increase to $6k. I believe my Experian was 692 as the time. At the one year mark, they auto increased my limit again to $8k and that is where my limit stayed for about a year. Last week, I called to determine if I was eligible for an upgrade and the agent placed the call on hold. After returning, she advised I was approved for the siggy!! A week later, I called in for an unrelated issue and the agent advised it appeared my account was eligible for a cli; however, she would need to pull a hard inquiry first. I thanked her and respectfully declined. A few days later, I received an email stating my new credit line was $13k!!! This was a total shock considering I declined the hard pull and I really never use this card. But now, it will be used quite frequently. For anyone wondering, my Experian score was 732 and my overall utilization is 2%.
