topic Venture 30k in Credit Card Approvals

Venture 30k

Wasn't expecting 30k, but thrilled nonetheless! I currently have one other Cap 1 card. It started as a Venture in March '15, with a SL of 15k, APR was high at 22.9%. I've since had it converted to QS with a current CL of 20k. I used heavily at first, then moderately until recently. My reason for a second card was for a lower APR, and the hopes of combining the two cards since Cap 1 does not lower APRs. Of course the signup bonus is great too! I did get a lower APR on the new card at 18.74%, so right in the middle of the range. I was hoping for the lowest rate, but I'm satisfied overall. On a side note, I was not instantly approved online. I also applied for another card immediately after, and was auto declined. I called the applications number and was only asked a few questions, then approved. Not sure why it wasn't instant, other than being told there were a few flags. Interesting. The second app was auto declined because Cap 1 only approves 1 card every 6 months now. I didn't know my APR until today. I applied on March 27. I had to call in once again to get that info. The Venture is now booked and on its way!

Congratulations, skorpy! That is a tremendous SL! Like you, I want to apply for Venture at some point down the road to secure a lower APR. I think I need to age my reports and raise my scores first. When I got the QS in December I got the middle APR too. In any case, very nice approval!

Wow! Congrats. I have to admit I'm more than a little jealous - I got declined last month with scores 50-60 points higher. That is an incredible starting line.

Stats are in my signature. AAofA is about 3 years, due to a few new recent accounts and 2012 BK. I was in the garden for a year prior to applying and being approved for Venture and Amazon Prime.

Happy for you! With my Arrival Plus, I put EVERYTHING on that card and pay it off each month. The first year I had it, with the bonus points, I paid zero for my airfare to Morocco!

Scores in signatures change so, to help out those down the road who may look at your posts for info, it is helpful to post datapoints in your thread. Not required, but definitely helpful!

Hi NewAgenda. You applied for the Venture? This does seem rather low for the Venture considering the DP of others and their approvals But, as with every APP, it is YMMV. There is something in your profile that Cap 1, feels this limit is better. Could be scores, income, inquiries, available credit in relation to income, utilization. It could be a host of things and without more information, it is hard to posture a guess as to what the reason might be.

Venture min SCL is $5000. Must be Venture One. Their min SCL is $2000.
