AMEX BCE Approval - Apply for another AMEX?

Just got approved for BCE with AMEX. $1000 SL, 0% for 15 Months on purchases and balance transfers. Was just checking for offers and for once something actually popped up on the AMEX site. Was surprised by the offer and the approval as I'm currently sitting in the 610/630 range across all 3 bureaus.

Now I've read that AMEX will only do 1 HP per day and you could apply for another without risking another HP, is there any truth to this? If so what should I go for?

Wow you give me lots of hope; from what I read I heard its 1 HP but I will let somenoe else with more knownledge answer that...I want to apply by 05/03 so that I can get the 10% back from restuarants

Well, they will not approve another revolver today. Wait a week or so. You could app for a charge card (PRG, Green etc.) though. There will ONLY be a HP Maybe possibly if you are approved, if you are existing cardholder, so, if you are denied, there is no risk. 😁

Why not, I applied for 2 Amex credit cards in one night, approved for both, 1 HP

Do a Charge Card and you'll be approved and it will only be 1 HP!

I have an interesting data point on multiple apps in a short period of time

I was approved for a BCE in late Feb for 5K limit.

I applied for a BCP (for the bonus) on April 5, and I was declined - (EX Fico 8 is 771)

The reason in the letter was "you have reached the maximum number and type of Cards that we will approve within a period of a few months" - only reason given.

I know many folks get approved for 2 credit cards (or 2 charge cards, or 1 of each) in 90 days, so this decline was a little unusual. And, yes, I only have 1 Credit card - the BCE, and only submitted 2 apps (1 for BCE and 1 for BCP) in last 90 days.

weird ...no biggie, I may apply again in late May

edited to add: no hard pull ion the decline of course

I apllied for BCE last Monday 4/3/17 approved 10K SL. I then applied for the SPG the same day. It went in review until Monday 4/10/17 and it was another HP. I was approved 6K SL so I guess the extra pull was worth it.

I will say I probably would have not applied if I knew there was going to be another HP but I'm glad I did.

I was approved for the Plenti card from AMEX 09/16. I applied for the ED 01/19/17. I didn't have to enter SSN or anything like that. Instant approval no HP. I then applied for the BCE on 02/15/17, same thing no SSN or anything and no HP. That was my experience.

I've been down this road about 3 weeks ago. I waited (due to website being down) EDC one day approved, $1400, 670 Fico 8. Next day another HP, INSTANT approval, Amex Green Card. The rep told me that if you apply for two AX revolv in 1 day you will get AUTO 5 day hold 'Call Us' message, because of Fraud Software. I didn't mind the 2 HP's since I got what I wanted. Your scores are lowish tho' so I don't know in your case. Hey all they can say is No right. I def would not apply for another revolv tho' right away. Good luck!

I was approved for BCE and Delta Skymiles on the same day same HP. EX was around 640 at the time and got $1K SL on both

So I ended up applying for the Delta Gold Skymiles AMEX yesterday too. Said to call in, so I did. Representative told me that its on hold for 5 days because of their systems. No way to over ride it. Rep did tell me it would be approved, would just happen in 5 days (not buying that, but was said to me on a recorded line). Offered to expedite ship the card once its approved. Checked status today and the status of that app shows In Progress. Guess I'll wait and see what happens with that.

Because I applied for the BCE and was approved for it so they need to wait 5 days? Didnt really make sense, but called three times and spoke to three different people and they all said the same thing.

Just an update... It's been 5 days since the BCE approval. So I called this morning about my Delta Skymiles Gold app. Approved, $1000 SL. While I was at it I then app'd for the PRG card, approved as well. Recieved no notifications about pulls so I'm assuming that this was all off the HP AMEX got last Tuesday. Will see if I get any other HP alerts within the next few hours. But seem to be in the clear.

I'm still in shock that I even got approved for the BCE nevermind the Delta and PRG. Figured I might as well get in all the way with AMEX while I have the opportunity and they are approving me with scores in the 620/630 range.

Applied for the PRG a few days after the BCE hoping that it would not be another HP but since it was I went for the Everyday as well, a 2 fer.

Just got an alert from Experian, they did another HP yesterday, oh well.
