My recent spree is at an end and just wanted to share. Before applying at the end of April, I had a Secure Cap1 at $500, quicksilver one at $1100 (started at $600) Those have been open for almost two years now. Credit one at $850 (started at 500 and received to CLI since opening about a year ago). Since then I have added to my wallet (all in april and in order of application) Navy Federal $1600, Discover $7,000 (that was a shocker to me and as a result it is my primary driver) Capital one Venture $5,000 (long verification process so my card is just now being mailed out and I hope it's metal), Navy Federal CLOC (applied online, called in 5 minutes later, they said they needed more information, asked me to email in my drivers license and SS card and to my surprise told me to call back in 10 minutes. When I did, they countered my $15k request with $1k. I know that will grow). I also added the williams and Sonoma Store card. They gave me a $1,000 limit. It's worth getting for me because with all of the sales they have and the 5% on purchases is insane. I would always PIF so its a complete win. That's all for at least a year as far as HP's. I am of course going to go for the softies for Navy and Discover after the 3 cycles/90 days. And with the CLOC. When I do come out of the garden, I think at the top of my list is going to be the New NFCU Amex. I'm sure by then there will be plenty of reviews on it to help me make a better decision. I honestly can't think of any other cards I would really need to round things out. Any suggestions or thoughts? I will be cancelling my credit one and cap1 secured within the year also. I'm sitting at about 20k in avail credit.

Venture Card Approval-Will it be METAL??

After a long process of identity verification and them not being able to legibly view my faxed documents (I literally faxed them in 7 different times before they were clear), I was approved for the Venture (not venture one) card with a $5K limit. Can anyone confirm that all Venture cards currently being issued are metal. The rep I recently spoke to said that the metal ones were only issued at certain credit limits. She didn't sound too sure of herself. Anyone who's been recently approved at the $5k SL have any insight? Or anyone else at all for that matter. Thanks.

My Venture approved about two years ago at 15k was plastic. My Venture approved about two months ago for 20k was metal. But Im not sure that tells you anything really.

On their website it advertises that the card is Metal. I hope that holds true.

Fantastic job. 2 things though, growing your Navy cloc will be hp as thats a different beast than the cc and second, you can get rid of Credit One NOW, lol. With approvals by Navy Discover and the Real Cap One, too many problems can arise with Credit 2 and youve moved past them. In 3 -6 months your Navy card could be anywhere from 10 to 24k, you never know with Navy. Im sure there will be a stampede here when the Navy Amex card comes out so best of luck going forward. You're right. I'm going to close Credit one this month. I don't mind the HP for the CLOC. I'm certain that once Navy sees my Discover and Venture lines, they will bump me up into the the 5 figures. But I really am in no rush. Right now with my current monthly spending, I can "almost" stay under 30% of my Disc. When it starts getting close, I just use Navy for the excess. I'm going to be using the Venture for a bit to at least get that 3k spend out of the way to get the bonus.

Aren't they just issuing metal cards for a limited time only? I could have sworn I read that. Also, if one was to do a PC to the venture, would it be metal or is it just for new accounts?

My Venture has CLI of $25k and I spent $75k on it last year and I can not get a metal card.

it is a World MasterCard though so I think that is why.

Well I just got the email that mine was mailed out yesterday. So I will be updating shortly and then we can put things to rest that even at the lowest starting line, it still comes in metal.

Well I just got the email that mine was mailed out yesterday. So I will be updating shortly and then we can put things to rest that even at the lowest starting line, it still comes in metal.

Just to recap, I was approved for the Capital One Venture card with a $5K limit. I received it in the mail today and it is indeed METAL!
