Dillards Approval Finally!!!

Today I was in dillards. I stopped in to apply for a card. This was my fourth try. Everytime before a decline too many inquiries. I waited about 60 days since my last application. I applied today at the register. The store clerk got a printout from the register to call DFS. He called and was on hold for the longest time. He was going to hang up and call back and i said no be patient and wait. After she comes back on she tells him they want to speak to me. They ask for permission to send me a text to my phone with a code number. Then she asks to verify my information name address, social etc. I give her the code from my phone. She puts me on hold. Now i know since they are asking to send a code that is a hint maybe an approval this time. Sure enought she said put the salesperson back on the phone and he has me put my last 4 social, dob and phone number into the keypad and out prints a temporary shopping pass. Then I ask him for my credit limit. He writes it on the receipt. Can you guess? $2,300. Super happy with an approval finally. My score on efx which is the report they pulled is 716. I noticed a soft pull on experian with todays date from WF/Dillards when checking my experian report online. I then asked if i got approved for the dillards amex or the regular dillards. I called and they said dillards. i was kinda disappointed i didn't get the combo version store/amex card but just the same an approval with wells fargo is hard to get. I bank with them and still haven't gotten my secured card upgraded to non secured and the only reason i wanted it was i wanted a card from the bank i bank with. Got it in december so maybe they will be rewarding soon. Just the same happy to get something out of wells fargo. lol

Congrats! Maybe down the road you can get it upgraded to the Amex.

I was wondering if they do upgrades? Is it automatic or do you have to apply. Haven't found any posts yet on it.

I applied for the store card and was given the Amex card. I don't know about auto upgrades, but when I called to ask about CLI, I was told they do not do auto CLIs.
