Congrats on getting a card from your CU, put in on a stove and watch it grow

My bride got a car loan with this CU recently so I thought I'd try to get my foot in the door with them. App'd online, they responded that someone would be in touch within 1-2 days. Got a phone call 2 days later with them asking a couple of questions, and was told underwriting would let me know in a couple of days. I hadn't heard anything so I checked their site, lo and behold, I got approved for $2500. I don't know the rate yet, but I requested their Classic card, with no cash back or travel points, but lower rates than their other cards...I'll be curious to see what rate I wound up with. I figure I have enough rewards and cash back cards, a low rate one might be nice to have in my arsenal.

I have to visit their branch in person and open a savings account with a $5 deposit, then I'm all set.

Not a huge limit, but I have always liked dealing with CUs and this isa great first step with them. The 72 month used car loan at 3.64% was nice for my wife too...

From a fellow Cincy resident, congrats on the GECU CC approval! I have an account there, only $5 in "savings." I worked/co-oped at GE Aviation in college.

I like the idea of diversifying, and spreading my CC business around, just in case something goes sideways with a particular creditor. We're also pondering a move to a new home next year, so developing a relationship with a CU for a mortgage is also part of my grand scheme...Wells Fargo Mortgage has been decent to work with, but I'd like a local lender next time.
