Amex BCE instant approval!

Hey guys. I've been lurking around the forums for a few months now trying to get some good information, and I just decided to join. I wanted to share a little bit of my story. I just purchased a new house (200K), bought a new Audi A4 (45k- leased in nov 13) and I also already had a 2012 new F150 (40K-leased in oct 12).

Decided to see if I could get qualified for some "higher tier" credit cards so I did some research. I received a pre approval letter from the discover it card (which i was declined online for ?) which led me to my next choice, the AMEX BCE card. I was instantly approved for 2k on this card. I guess my question is, I wonder why I wasn't approved for the IT card, but the BCE was an instant approval?

I know my AAoA is around 5 years and I have 2 baddies on the record from about 5 years ago when I was young and clueless. I have around 70k in student loans that I am in repayment with and I make around 100k a year

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys!

Just an update, I called the guys at discover and they informed me that a decision is "still pending" and that I should have an answer in the next couple of days. Is that normal proceedure? I'm sure it is, just very curious and excited to hopefully get two very good cards in the same week!

This is standard for Discover when you don't receive an instant approval (additional processing). Hopefully the outcome will be good. Congrats on your BCE!

UPDATE!!

Discover called me this morning and approved me for a 2500 limit. Happy New Years to me!

Thats AMEX BCE and Discover IT card in 3 days. Time for me to relax on the inquiries and do some work on building up the portofolio for the year.

Couldn't be more excited!!
