5/3rd approval for wrong card (I already have the Truly Simple card).

Approved for 5/3rd Truly Simple card on Aug 3 for $12K SL. Days ago I tried to App the Trio card. The system told me I could not apply online so I called CS. CSR told me congrats I am approved for the Trio card for $10 SL. I thought cool and said goodbye.

THEN, I got an email that said, thanks for applying for the TRULY SIMPLE card. I called to find out what was up and CSR was no help, said app is too new to look at it.

An hour later, some manager called and told me the CSR had mistakenly approved me for the Truly Simple card, not the Trio card. He said he can cancel the Truly Simple app and re-apply for the TRIO card. I said ok, confirmed information etc. At end of call, I was told there was a problem, and they would let me know. I though **bleep**?

Day later, the new card is in my 5/3rd account with a $10k SL. I called to confirm which card and i was told it was the TRIO card.

Today, I just received the below mail:.....LOL

On the positive side, the Truly Simple card is 0% interest for 15 mos and the new card is 14.99% vs 23.99%. Now I have $22k at 0% APR/15 mos on purchase and BT.

Your new card is approved and on its way

Thank you for choosing the Truly SimpleSM Credit Card. Your new credit card has been approved and your credit limit is $10,000.

So you now have (2) Truly Simple Mastercards?

Yeah it's something they will obviously be working to correct becuase that error entered the computer system and is why you're seeing that in your online accounts and explains the email too.

I have something of a little mess in my own online account from a card (Trio BTW) that i closed after they switched it from a Platinum (i didn't request it) and it still shows up.

Their IT Dept is either backlogged or something else. My other accounts are accurate.

I will wait to receive the new Truly Simple card the APR is much lower at 14.99% vs 23.99% on the other. After I receive, maybe I will call them again about the TRIO card, no hurry the Simple card is 0% on BT and purchases for 15 months.

That was one of the big relief moments for me finding my own approval with a 14.99% APR compared to 18 and 19.

They must have seen that's why those other cards sit idle most of the time. I been on an absolute hunt for Low APR cards as opposed to Rewards/Limits lately and why i been in the garden nearly this whole entire year because i was bound and determined not to add anymore silly high APR's again.

Have those already in my PIF one's but was looking for a card that can take a rolling balance without sucking out easy proceeds just to carry time for a few months.

NFCU seen to that recently with the Platinum 8.99% for me. Also won over as a daily driver now.

Limits/Rewards are done and now time to put the rubber to the road for low apr

Ahhhh....the pieces are falling into place.

Today I received BOTH new cards.....I received a Trio card wtih $10k SL AND the Truly Simple card with $10k SL. Add that to my existing Truly Simple card of $12k SL and I total $32k SL with Fifth Third Bank.

Wow, that was one monumental mistake on their end! Worked out real well for you though. Congrats!
