Approved: Bank America Premium Rewards $21K

Applied on the first day, 9/18/2017. Sat there for 4 days in pending status. Called today and finally approved.

We both are BA Platinum Honor clients. 3 current BA card, Cash Rewards, Travel Rewards and Merrill+, all $21,000 CLs. The new card is approved for another $21,000 CL.

The credit person asked a lot of BA credit card related questions. I think BA is concerned with the 8-10 new credit cards opened over the past 1-2 years. Opened two new cards this month. All questions are security related questions.

But no question was asked about credit line or so. I think $21,000 seems to be the top level starting CL. This is plenty for me.

This is going to be a keeper. It can certainly replace the BA Travel Rewards. The BA Cash Rewards is still a sweet card.

Happy to have another card to absorb the travel expenses.

Yes, all my 4 BA cards have $21,000 starting CL. Considered nice high end CL. Just topping $20k.

Trying a few things. The BA Premium Rewards points are the same as the BA Travel Rewards points and you can transfer freely between them. I figure the actual TR points in each accounts are the final points, after the PR multiplier. So if you transfer 10,000 from one account to the other, it just does not change anything.

The transfer rate is 1:1 and immediately.

Also, BA's new Travel Center looks impressive. Not sure how the points compare to Chase UR system. The best is CSR 3% x1.5 = 4.5%. BA TR is 2% x 1.75 = 3.5%.

Of course CSR has higher fee. With CSP, it is 2% x 1.25 = 2.5%, vs TR's top 2% x 1.75 = 3.5%, both on travel. So TR outperforms if you are BA's top tier Platinum Honor client.
