Well, I wasn't planning on doing this but I joined Navy Federal the other day and opened a savings and checking which I will use as a backup to my local bank and Penfed. I then apped for the cash rewards card to see if I could get approved. Ended up being an instant approval @ 3500 and 10.65%. I'm definitely happy with the APR as it is now my lowest and I know the limit will grow as I use the card. I decided to go ahead and check out my other cards to see if any qualified for a CLI. I started with Discover. My last CLI was a little over 30 days ago and it was for 700 for a total of 4300. I pulled the trigger and they ended up giving me another 300 for a total of 4600. I'm not complaining. Finally, I decided to check out my Penfed Plat Visa Sig since I heard that the AR had been performed recently and they also switched to FICO 9 scoring. Mine shows 9/12/17 as last updated. It was 90 days since my last increase, which was only for 500. This one went to a loan officer for review, but just heard word back it was approved. Went from 6500 to.... 15k. Hell yeah. Largest limit I have. All in all I think my spree went decently well. The only inquiry I have gotten notice for is NFCU and it was 1 Transunion pull.

Was the HP for the Checkings/Savings? I'm planning on opening one Saturday.

I asked about the HP for setting up new service. They said that there would be one. I assume the HP was from checking/savings/membership, but wondering if they used that same HP for the credit card also. I can only assume so since it was within 30 seconds of setting up the initial account that I had notification of the inquiry. I have heard where folks get multiple inquiries from Navy though.

FYI, qualified for Navy from a summer jobI had with the DOD about 15 years ago. Lol. Thought I was going to have to rely on a family member.

Nice! Thanks for the info. I'll ask that question when i go in tomorrow. If they use the same HP from opening up checking, i'll just go ahed and go with a card as well.

Congrats on the approval and CLIs! I love the title of the thread, made me laugh and I love to laugh. FYI, don't forget to double dip with your Discover CLI. I don't know what number you're supposed to call, but you can search the board here (or someone can reply to this post) to find out where to call and maximize your Discover CLI. From what I've heard, if it's under $1k, that means there's more on the table and you have to call and get it. Good luck!
