Discover CLI after a low offer

My wife tried to increase her Discover limit last month and they offered only $500. She said "no thanks".

Just tried again (no CLI increase link on main page or profile page) and they offered $4,500.

Some information:

- she just finished a 0% offer a couple of months ago

- she just reported $0 balance last month

- always PIF

- started as a student card at $500 4 years ago

- new limit $22,000

So it seems as though maybe instead of seeming desperate for a CLI and taking the $500 maybe others should do the same and say no to it and wait for a better offer such as this .Thanks for the info. New to disco and appreciate this knowledge . Oh and congrats!

Congrats to DW Im confused. How did Discover offer these increases if not requested by DW via the request credit limit increase page?

There are 3 places where a credit limit increase link show:

Click on Card Details next to the card picture and there could be a link below the credit line
Click profile then Edit Account Profile, you could see a link on credit line
Click on Manage, then you always see a link to Credit Line Increase under Credit Options

Some people say that they don't get increases until the link show on 1 or 2. Last month and this month there were no links on 1 or 2, so she went with the 3rd option to request the increase.
