Dell Finance Approved... No hp so far

Dell has some good Black Friday deals going on now and needed a new pc,so figured it would be a good time to shop.
I configured a fully loaded up XPS with koby lake processor and gtx 1070 card and new monitor. Cart total came to $2200.
Didn't have any cc at 0% right now,so I figured I try for Dell Finance and got approved for 3500.
What's weird is when I I hit apply I got an immediate alert on Experian for "Dell identity check "I've never seen this before now. So far no hp ,only identity check.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Would be weird to not get a hp. And to top it off they showed my score at approval and it was 40 points higher than actual.
Really weird....
Update: Inquiry went on my Experian report this morning. Delayed a little bit I guess. Reported as installment loan not revolving line. Doesn't surprise me since Web Bank does the personal loans on Lending Club. Hopefully it won't hurt my scores to bad.

I had dell finance a business computer for me back in 2012. I was surprised that FiCO treated the account as a "finance accunt," which gets dinged as a lesser quality revolving account. When I would ge my FICO reports they woud always point out that I had this finance account and put that in the column of things that were

hurting my score. Just FYI.

Sounds like Dell does unusual things with there accounts. Will definitely watch out with this one. Thx for the info.

It’d be great if they didn’t hard pull you. I was approved in April and they hard pulled Experian. They auto-CLIed zme after 6 months which was not at all expected since there’s been no new purchase activity since that April purchase.

Also, they show up as a revolving charge account on my report.

Thanks for the info.
The only way I can see that there would not be a hp is that its financed through Web Bank and my personal loan through Lending Club is through Web.
So maybe they sp my credit occasionally and know what my reports look like. Or it might just be a delayed hit. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Congrats m8, i have dell card to ,the max card can go 5k, i have mine @ 3k started there ,i asked few times for cli and was told no..i have it open for last 9 yrs, and only use it like once every 3 yrs and they still left it open even now ,last time i use it was 3/11/2015 for $12.86 lol.

Shows up as a revolving charge account on my reports.

i think i will close it in jan next year .

They may have changed something I was approved for $4K and they Auto-CLIed me to $5500 last month.

Like you though, besides my XPS purchase and a dongle because there’s no friggin regular USB ports, I can’t see myself using it again until I need another PC. Let’s hope that’s a few years off.

Nice to see it can grow some. They do sell a lot of other things on there,so it may get some use after this purchase is payed for.
The 12 month free financing is nice to have. But I better get it payed in 12 months because they set my Apr at 28.xx something. That can hurt a guy. Hahaha
Also nice to know they won't close it if there's no use after a while. All good to know. Thanks fico peeps.

4theloveofpoints, how do you like your xps? This is my first and hope it's worth the money. Be my 1st computer with a graphics card. Always had basic pc's in the past.

I also have an account with them at 3k rarely order cause last time had problems with an order what a hassle but congrats! hope all goes well.

Thanks...Hope all does go well. I've never spent over 800 in the past for a pc,so they better get it right. After spending this much I want it to be a great experience.
I've had cheaper Dell's in the past and they've been good computers.

I love it so far though you built a much better one than I ultimately purchased.

This is my first go round with Dell. So far so good.

Reading stories about their financing department had me a bit scared but it seems like a lot has improved over the years. Making payments and payment processing is seamless.

My financing is also through Web Bank. It’s weird it’s noted on our reports differently.

It may change. But the initial alert from myfico shows it as a loan. That may change to a revolving account when it hits my report,will have to wait to see.
I've had cards say flex or something in the past then go on report as revolving before.
Or something on that line,so will no when it reports.

Wow, that's a good news no HP. Congrats! I have the account since 2002 ($2000, revolving) and coming to 16 years soon. The first time when I applied it was HP. They increased my credit limit only once and that was 2005 to $3000 (SP) which was also the last time I made a major purchase from them. I mostly build my own computer but sometimes they do have a good pricing to match during early 2000. I attempted to buy a laptop from them for $1870 (Black Friday 2016) but they sent me a wrong Alienware laptop (happened to me and so many others, long story to tell) so I refunded it. Just now a minute ago I tried to raise my credit limit but I asked them whether they are going to do a HP or SP. The credit manager told me she cannot increase it since it is the firm decision based on the credit information on file. I told her it is alright but that information was 2005 and now it is 2018. We wished each other nice goodbye greeting and that was it. The moral of the story is, you cannot get a credit limit from Dell even as a customer for almost 16 years. bump..

That's good news! I guess I have to make a big purchase from them once in a while and pay it off to get the CLI. However, the only thing I want to buy is probably a dell outlet older model Alienware laptop. I just build a new desktop which is $800 cheaper than what they could offer and with a better spec too (same TR processor).

My laptop died on a recent work trip, and a friend advised I should check out the XPS line of Dell laptops (he bought his in 2016 and loves it). I built one this morning, and was approved for 3k at checkout with Dell Financial (Web Bank). I can't see myself using this anytime soon again, but nice to have for a potential Black Friday purchase down the road.

Congrats for getting $3000 credit limit. Just to let you know if you are interested in buying a desktop, it is cheaper to custom build one yourself as I have done. You can save tons of money. However, sometimes on Black Friday the computer pricing offers by the big companies are hard so that's the best time to buy from them. GPUs' prices are coming down again but not whole of them so it might be good idea to buy from the brandname companies. Other websites that offer better specs with lower prices (free shipping and no taxes) are from ibuypower.com and cyberpower. Ibuypower.com actually offers better pricing than any company and sometimes only slightly a bit more than your custom builds. For laptops they also sell extreme reduced pricing (beside Amazon). Anyway, just want to let you know if you want to save extra change.

I also have a 3K account. I’ve had it for 9 years and have used it 5 times including getting a 60” plasma at a clearance price when all the companies were phasing them out. I’d say those 5 purchases were 5 nice products.
