Discover IT with no HP!

I have been using the Discover Scorecard since Jan as another tool to keep track of my score, maybe even get a preapproval from Discover so I can take advantage of cashback match for first year. Last month my score jumped up to 674 - still no preapproval. This month it stayed the same - still no preapproval. I checked the preapproval page today and there was the Discover IT. I applied and was approved for 10K! The best part is no HP (as of yet) either. I usually get several e- mails in a row back to back to back when there are any changes on my report and not a peep yet. I'm pumped about the approval, SL and bonus no HP! Sign up for the Scorecard for a few months if you're thinking of applying!

my wife never got a HP when she got the discover IT when i applied i got a HP like a few hours after i apped to equifax

My hard pull notification took a day or so. No idea why. I thought the same as you. Keep us updated.

I applied via scorecard on Jan 25th this year got approved and still have no hard pull. I even had CLI double dip recently.

Yes, I was surprised with the SL as well.

674 Ex, 670 TU, 652 EQ

5.5 yr AAoA (recently went down with 2 new cards this winter) Oldest Acct 13 yrs

7 Inqs on Ex, 4 on EQ, 4 on TU

100K income

Util - hasn't been above 2% for about 1 year on $4,000 of available credit.

I also recently got Cap1 Venture w/ 10k limit but a new TL hasn't been added to any report yet

5 y/o paid charge off

8 late student loans as recently as 1 year old but spread out over the last 5 years.

Question...

Where does one find these offers on the scorecard page? Or is it a case of I simply have never had one so no offer tab shows ?

Not sure about others, but I went through the regular preapproval page while logged into the scorecard.

I've recently paid off all of my CCs, and I said that I was gonna go to the garden for a while but I didn't. I looked on my Experian app and it stated that the Discover it card was a match for me. I applied and I was approved with a $4000 limit. Now...the funny thing is, I have a Student Discover card ($500) that I have been trying to get a credit increase on, but couldn't. I'm wondering if they are going to close my Student card at some point. I'll probably just use it for the cash back and pay it off every month. It feels good not to have any debt. My HP hasn't shown yet.

Wow .Sounds just like my story from 3 months ago. Same score just about (670-680 I think. Its in my Sig on approval date so ill see after this is posted). But they hooked me up with $10k as well .And yes no HP for me either .This is why I highly suggest to people to sign up for the scorecard. But not a day before applying .Doesn't seem to help .I suggest 3 months at least so that they can see your score steadily improve or see what your profile acts like over time etc .Also they use scores from a month before when applying also so once your score goes up you may not get preapproval right away. It may takes a few weeks .Which is why they denied me one month and approved me for $10k the next month .Enjoy the disco train .Ill be right there next to you!

Awesome! That's great news... I was just approved yesterday for Disco IT with SL $6.5K... now granted my AAOA for CC's is only one year, my highest limit previous to this was Amex ED ($1K SL) which I only received a little over two months ago and the day before I was approved for Citi DC with SL of $6.1K. My income is $125K though.

So, I did the scorecard with Disco too a few months back and just applied yesterday and was instantly approved for SL above... psyched about possibility of no HP! Maybe we figured something out here MyFico family!

Well, bad news... just got the MyFICO ding and Disco did do a HP. They pulled Equifax though, which I'm happier about because I usually have Experian grabbed.

Anyhoo, wanted to make sure I let everyone know... now remember, I ended up having to have a team associate process my app over the phone though after having issues with my app I submitted online (which ended up being two and they cancelled out) that was supposedly only a prequal. Hopefully, you have better luck and miss the HP, but if it hasn't been that long yet, I would definitely not count it out just yet. It usually takes 1-2 days to show, but sometimes I've seen it take longer (i.e. Amex took over a month to report my HP on Experian).

So basically, it might not have worked for me as it has for others because of the route mine ended up taking, but still happy with my SL and Disco acceptance!
