Amex Delta Gold Sky Miles Approval!

I first got my foot in the door with Amex last Friday(4/20) when i apped for the Blue Cash Everyday card after finally getting the pre qual offers the last few months- Prior to that I was always denied pre-qual offers. Ended up with a BCE card w/ a $500 SL and intend to let it grow and keep util low.

Today while being on the fence I once again decided to try the pre-qual and see if I can get one of the travel cards on my list. No dice- I end up cold apping after reading about the approval odds with lower data points.

End up getting the 7-14 day message and I'm worried its a denial. I immediatley call their recon line and find out that i accidentally mis-typed my social security # and its raising a red flag since it belongs to a deceased person. After we go through another info check and confirm the right social # is mine, I get instant approval for $1k!

I'm pretty happy as is- I know it's one of the easiest cards to get and with a lower SL, but this week is 1 year since i've been on my credit rebuild and still aiming to move up. Just happy i can finally ditch Credit 1 although they haven't done me any harm

Current cards as follows:

-Cap 1 QS1 on 4/2017 : $500($300 SL credit steps-->$500 in Feb)

-DIscover IT Chrome on 4/2017 :$500 secured(just graduated this month from unsecured, PC to Cashback card+CLI to $1,250)

-Credit 1 Platinum Unsecured Visa on 4/2017: $500- current The payment is due on 28th and planning to close down.)

I am in the middle of submitting my Credit 1 payment(PIF) and once it post i will call to close the card down leaving me with:

-Discover IT Cashback

-Cap 1 Quicksilver 1

-Amex Blue Cash Every Day

-Amex Delta Gold

Just wanted to share since im very excited that it turned out not to be a denial

Congrats, you got some nice cards to start using. Also, for the price of a credit one card getting some useful rewards. With the American Express cards from here on out will generally be a softpull if denied. I think you are on a great track to head to the garden for a year or so and by then hope you get your pick of the litter .

That's been the plan and now I am heading to garden since i can finally dump Credit 1 and have some name worthy cards to my record. PLan is to garden for the next year and let the cards grow accordingly and get my scores in the 700's by the end of the year

Bluelinr8- Thanks! what do your data points look like? I’ve heard this is one of the easier cards to get into even with lower points(low 600’s from what I read) after doing a ton of research . I was worried I would be denied because i just apped with them last week.
