AmEx Blue Cash Everyday Approval! $10k

Just got approved for the Blue Cash Everyday card with a $10k limit! This will be my 3rd card. A significant increase from my first cards. Cap1 Secured($500, 13 months old) and Amazon Store Card($1100, 6 months old). I'm pretty excited to continue my credit journey with American Express.

Is the $10k limit average or high for someone with limited credit history?

I actually went to AmEx after I tried Discover. Applied online last Sunday. Did the check application status everyday and it said there was an error. Called yesterday and they said they had no record of it.

Been doing a little searching on the forums and saw the 3x CLI for AmEx cards. What are the chances they approve a credit limit more than my current part time income of $28k? I plan to go full time later this year but probably not in the next 61 days.

There's no harm in asking for the entire 3X CLI. If Amex isn't sure about your ability to repay that limit they will make a counter-offer.

Well look at that. Was getting an error whenever I did check Discover app status. Called them and they said they had no record of my app. Thought it would be a waste of time to do another app so I decided to go with AmEx. Today, for the hell of it did the Discover app status check again and now all of a sudden I get a page that says to call them. A chat also popped up. Talked to them and they say they have a pre-approval on record for me but I need to go back to the pre-approval section and do another app. Well the app I did wasn't a pre-approval offer it was one I got in the mail with 19% or so APR. When I go to pre-approval offers I get 24.99%. Is it even worth calling them again?

Congratulations on your new AMEX Blue Cash Everyday Card. I just received mine last month with a $5000 limit. My APR is 18% with 0% for the first 15 monthes. My scores are in the 700 range and my income is $80K annually. I was surprised to be approved at all as I had a charge off with them in the past. I’ve heard AMEX has a long memory, lol.

So far I am delighted with the card with a notable exception being the foreign call centers. I’m trying to find out if AMEX uses foreign call centers across all their cards or if some of them have representatives with English-as-a-first-language skills.

Can someone please tell me how this card reports. I was approved for $13,500 this evening (Amex Blue Everyday Crd), asked for the digital account number (screen froze, so I never got it), then logged in after creating an online account. Only to discover that the system reflects a SL of $10k. I called customer service (closed but got the automated system), and the system states that there is no preset limit. Is this helpful or harmful as far as Fico scoring is concerned. What happened to my SL of $13,500? Was it because they thought that I was going to make an online purchase or something? Some background info: I have a 10 year credit history, 5 new credit accounts opened within 2 months, but no new accounts for over 2 years prior. 8 total credit cards, an exceptional credit mix according to Fico, and my Fico scores are: Ex 779, Eq 740, TU 755. This is before the Amex card that was opened today, and all other new accounts already reporting. I'm also only using 2% of my available credit, so I don't need to do any BT's. I just simply want to know if it was worth it to get a card that may not even report a credit limit. Thanks

Hello, I’ve had the Amex Blue for 6 months. I have a 10K limit and it reports that number, unlike my Amex Green which simply reports a “ high credit” of by highest balance. Hope this helps.

That's definitely helpful, I appreciate the prompt response. I just logged into the account, and it actually says that my CLI is $13,500. Glad to know that they'll be reporting a CL.
