Safe to apply for Chase Freedom? - Update Approved

My question is if you think it would be a good idea for me to apply for a credit card right now? I'll provide the details of my history below.

I moved to the US in mid 2016. What I did first was getting a Wells Farge Secured credit card. This card never got unsecured and I finally found out early this year that it never will unless I become a permanent resident or a citizen. I then applied for a Chase Freedom Unlimited card and after SSN verification I was approved for a 7k limit. Just recently I closed the Wells Fargo Card because it costs an annual fee and it is useless to me.

My experian report had a score of 741 yesterday and today it has a score of 718. The main difference is that yesterday the Wells Fargo card reported as open, today it updated to closed. Don't know what my utilization was yesterday. Today it is 0% and 0 cards with balances. The chase freedom unlimited reports as opened on march 1 and has two ontime payments on the report.

This morning I logged into my chase account (I have checking, savings, and the freedom unlimited with them all opened around march this year). The system told me it has two offers for me the chase freedom and the chase sapphire preferred. Now my question is, is it a good idea to apply for the freedom? Do I have any chance to get it?

If you have a green checkmark offer my understanding is that you are VERY likely to get approved for it. Is it a set APR? Does it only ask for income and phone? That said there was a bit of a change to your file and Chase will HP so it would depend on how much the WF acct mattered with the offer. Why not head to the branch, talk to the banker, and have them submit for you?

1) I am sure you have 1yr + credit history since you mentioned first card opened was in 2016.

2) Assuming Credit scores 700+ across all boards (Fico8's) with no baddies

3) and not opened more than 5 accounts in last 24 months.

I dont see why they could reject you. all the best.

ps you have offers from them itself. So I am sure you can grab some courage and pull the trigger.

OP appears to be under 5/24 but even so there are DPs showing green checkmark with set APR and short form app are bypassing 5/24 again

There was a green checkmark and a fixed apr. It also was asking for my income and phone number. So I decided to just apply online. I got a 30 day message. I guess I will have to wait for the letter.

call recon. they can do underwriting and approve you for a smaller limit. dont let HP go waste

Definitely call recon, but wait for the work week days M-F.

I've seen a few ppl, that had GreenCK offers, get the 30day message. Approval odds are very good from what they have posted.

They are very nice, friendly. I have three cards & an auto loan w/them.

There are different backdoor numbers for Chase. Which one would you recommend in my case?

I called chase. I was told is that my application is still being reviewed and they will let me know if they need any additional information. The automated information line said 30 days. Looks like I just have to wait and see.
