Amex Green Card and Gold Premier Card Approval

So I decided after reading a thread here to check my pre~qualified offers on the site The green card and the gold card popped up I’ve never been pre qualified for either so I decided to go for the plunge. I was Approved for both I just don’t know what my spending power is yet I had to pinch myself it’s been a long time coming post BK 2011.Im finally in with American Express yay 😀 you better believe I’m gonna use them wisely especially since .no annual fee for a year. As well

I'm just not sure why you got both of them. They're essentially the same card, no?

Should have gone with something else instead of the Green card, IMO.

Congrats on the approvals and rebuilding since your BK.

I'm not and I don't think the other poster was questioning if you knew what a charge card is but why apply for both the Green card and the PRG card because they're essentially the same card with the PRG offering additional travel benefits and after the first year they both have an AF. Of course that's your choice to app for both cards but it would seem when it comes to these 2 cards it would be best to choose one or the other especially considering the impact of adding 2 NPSL accounts to your report. Just a thought. No judgement or criticism. Just something to think about. Of course they both have nice SUB so there is that.

I will say it's always nice to see pre-approvals.

Oh no I understand what the OP was saying they both popped up so I applied for them both one hard pull when I spoke to the rep she said in 13 months I would be eligible for the upgrade ...we will see what comes in the future I’m glad I was able to get my foot in the door after being denied in the past I wonder what changed

As an Amex Green card holder looking to upgrade to PRG ASAP, I say congrats!

But yes it does seem weird you went for two charge cards. Everyday Card/Delta Gold may have been a better play.

Even with the AF, PRG surpasses the Green Card by 1,000 miles. Can make up any difference with MR points if you play that card right with even modest spend.

I am guessing the OP got 50k MR for PRG and 25kMR for Green Card for minimal spend is great. I am not sure why people are questioning this.

I didn't know NPSL accounts had a specific effect to your report. I thought it would considered just like a revolving account/credit card. Aside from no posted limit, how are NPSL accounts viewed differently?
