AMEX Loves me! not

Called WF for a CLI increase today and got auto rejected (internal scoring ) so I felt like I'd dodged spending a HP. It was burning a hole in my pocket and so I took it to the AMEX prequal site and came up empty for the umpteenth time. Read a few AMEX approval threads, the last one a success with a 641 EX FICO 08 and so Dang! I filled in some info and spun the AMEX wheel. Round and round it went and then it's asking me do I want to add AU -- huh, accepted you say? Then, Would you like a BT? This is where I see my CL -- 500 smackeroos. Nah, no BT for me. For that, brother, I need G-notes, not C-notes.

So I'm back in the Amex fam, even if they didn't greet me at the front door, take my coat and hat, hand me a refreshment and ask me how my trip was. Slippin' in the kitchen door still puts me in the house. By this time next year I expect we'll have all gotten very well re-acquainted.

Hey, it's a start! Congrats!
AMEX declined me recently and I was pretty bummed, but my credit is new so I'll give it a whirl again in 6 months or so.

Congratulations and welcome back to the AMEX fam! Regardless of the SL, the good news is that you are back in. And they are known to grow quicker than most lenders with responsible use and payment history. I wouldn't sweat the SL. It would be up there in no time.

Congrats on getting back into the Amex Family. Don't worry, I'll make sure they tip you well! Won't be long till you'll be able to do 3x CLI so I wouldn't sweat it. Either way, coming through the front, kitchen or a window, you're in!

Enjoy! I no longer sweat small limits. Either they grow or put them in your wallet as a card you know if ever find fraud cant do too much damage

Congrats. I too got in with them at a $500 limit. It auto increased at the 7 month mark. I haven’t tried for an increase since October and decided to focus growing other cards and perhaps I’ll donate/transfer some limits to it later.

It should grow. If it doesnt, it doesn't matter much because Amex will give you love and preapprovals on other cards in no time.

The pre-approved offers just showed up in your account? How did it play out?
