Today is my three month anniversary with Discover. Initial credit limit was $6,500. Decided to ask for CLI. Rep said they couldn't increase without a HP. I declined. Opted instead to apply for USAA Visa. Approved for $7,000. That got me thinking. Called Discover back and said go ahead and do HP. Approved with new credit limit of $10,000. First 5 digit limit since starting rebuild in March 2012. Not doing to bad in the almost two years since starting.

Congrats! I'd be happy with your initial Discover limit...lol. Mine has not budged....

If I could give you my Discover credit limit for your stats, you would have it in a minute. Your stats are impressive. That is really odd with your Discover. I'm waiting for March (6th month anniversary) to knock on the Amex 3cli for my Blue Cash.

Thanks so much...it was an uphill battle for many years. This forum has helped me quite a bit and corrected many misconceptions and incorrect information I had about credit. Continued good luck and success to you.

Just received a credit monitoring alert. Discover pulled Experian for credit limit increase. I'm in Ohio and they pulled Equifax for initial card application, so I assumed they would pull Equifax again. On a good note, my Experian score is higher than my Equifax score. I could have possibly gotten more if an increase, but I'm happy with the $3,500 I did get which is slightly more than half of my original credit limit. I should also say that I have three negatives on Experian too from 2008. This didn't seem to bother Discover. I also have 10k in a Discover savings account which may have helped.

I've had a lot of success with Discover over the past few months! Started at $1k about a year and 1/2 ago. Finally got bumped to $2k, then $4k, now $9k all in the matter of about 1 and 1/2 months! Utilization has gone down majorly, and I paid a few cards off. Just today, I got offered a Discover Cashback Checking w/ no fees. I don't really need it, but I accepted the offer, in hopes that it leads to some different offers.
