Chase Freedom Unlimited Approval Post Settlement

Had to share this one as I was excited to get back in the game and surprised by the approval. In 2014 i got a couple cards to use and help my credit. Fast forward to 2016 my job in the oilfield was pretty much nonexistent and I ended up settling on cards with Barclays, Cap1, Chase and AMEX. Been back on my feet and in a much better place financially for over a year now so yesterday I got a wild hair and apped Chase Freedom Unlimited and got instant approval for $6100. I couldn’t believe it. Scores are mid 600s and hopefully heading up from there. I do have an auto loan with a very low interest rate that has never missed a payment so that’s the only thing that has kept my credit alive. Thinking about trying for a couple more cards to plant in the garden. Cap1 is sending me 5 letters a week pushing the Platinum Mastercard. Any recommendations?

Thinking about taking Cap1 up on their offer and seeing what they give me. Would love to get back in with AMEX but I don’t think that’s in the cards yet.

If Cap One is beating down your doors to offer you a Platinum Mastercard,

then go ahead and take it. There's a good chance you're pre-approved now

that Chase has given you some love.

In addition, you might want to give Pen Fed a try as well.

They hard pull Equifax, and forum members have reported

a FICO 9 650 or better for their Promise Visa, which is their

most popular card and the easiest to qualify for.
