So after all the reading I’ve done here and all the positives I’ve heard about Discover and how easy they are to work with, the big CLIs, and so forth, I’ve bern watching the pre-qual Page weekly. Had an EX score increase this past week so I went for it and instead of the secured card offer, solid APR offers for IT and Chrome came up saying pre-approved rather than prequalified. I apped the IT, uploaded SS card and license and was told to call in. Called in, verified name and address, and after two minutes on hold he came back with a $2800 approval. Being that my majors are subprime three-digit cards, this is very welcome. Looking forward to a good relationship with them and a lot less use on the subprimes.

For purposes of data points, a combination of a small increase on my QuickSilver credit limit, the addition of my loan to my report (finally), and the addition of the Victoria’s Secret $500 store card pushed my score to 626 on Experian, slightly down from where it was due to the loan balance and the HPs most likely, but that was the threshold that changed my offers on the prequal Discover page from the secured card to the IT and Chrome.

Congrats! I use my Discover IT almost daily in the rotating categories, and NEVER have I had any issue with the card or customer service! Some people claim it’s not “widely accepted,” but I’ve never had a problem. Great card you’ve got, enjoy responsibly!
