Ebates Approved!

After my shocking DISCO decline: https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Applications/SHOCKING-Discover-DECLINED-778-EX-Score-w-Pre-Approval/td-p/5350776, I decided to app for the other card I truly wanted: the Ebates card.

Was approved for $1,000 temp SL. Will update soon with true SL. Pulled EX 778, stats below.

Congratulations! Discover can be very CRAZY. Alot of people know on here I don't like them lol base on my own history with Discover

Congrats on your approval! Ebates rocks!!! I just got this card too, last month and so far I have nothing but good things to say about it. Had a question about cash back, sent an email and it was answered in less than 20 minutes. I'm impressed! Enjoy!!!

Thanks! They will! I am a big Ebates spender and the 3% on top of whatever amazing deal and cash back there may be at Walmart is sweet sweet revenge to Disco. They'll get my swipe fees...sorry Disco.

My temporary limit $1800 was the same as my real starting limit $1800 although I've seen a few folks post that their actual limit was about 2-3 times their temporary. But it told me that on the approval screen (which in my opinion flashes by too quickly for you to get any real info...I just vaguely remember both numbers being the same)

My scores are in my signature and were +/-5 points when I applied for the ebates card on August 21st. It was my 7th card in about 10 months, relatively thick file, AAoA 6+ years with 6 new accounts reporting, (thanks to a student loan from 1994), some baddies about to age off in 2019 or 2020, low income <$35,000/yr. Can't think of any more DP but feel free to ask if you want to know anything more specific, I'm an open book (too much of one if my facebook friends are to be believed)

Of course the thing about Synchrony is if you have alerts from the CRAs you'll know probably by Monday at the latest what it is because it's probably being added to your credit report as a new account as we type this thread!

My temp limit was 800 on Feb, 2016, they pulled TU which was around 715 for FICO 8 at that time. I call Credit Solution few hours later ask for 15k, they counted with 10k (now sits at 18k). Similar with WalMart and PayPal MC.

EBates Visa is a solid card. Congrats! Had mine a few years. The luv button took me to $10k but hasn't budged after that. Since I got denied two times in a row I figured I would wait 6 months before I make my very first call to Credit Solutions.

Can you explain how to get the credit limit increased when you talk to CreditSolutions team. Do you need to pay $49 in order to discuss with them first(as what they have advertised)? I have seen many threads and I have zero clues on how this is being done. sorry being a novice.

Just another example of how more is taken into consideration when determining an approval or SL than perceived scores & data points.

This particular “Credit Solutions” is part of Synchrony, it’s phone number is in the “Backdoor Numbers” thread. No fees whatsoever, it was SP, they would look over your credit report/profile and determine to granting an higher limit or not, pretty painless. I believe the max on each card is 25k and 100k overall with Synchrony.
