Approved for 2k CL for Chase Southwest RR Premier card!

I've been wanting to get this card for a while now, but I'm still recovering from a maxed out Chase card i got approved for when i was 18.

The card i originally had was the British Airways Chase card, i somehow got approved for a $7,200 CL and promptly maxed it out. Four years later, i have it down to $3,800. I've got a good income now, one that can support a good limit card but as recently as March, i was only able to be approved for a $300 limit with a Capital One Platinum.

Well, after reading that the average Vantage 3 score of Southwest cardholders is only 670 with the low end being 603, i decided to give it a shot and got instantly approved for 2K! Extremely greatful for the info i was able to find. I realize they're not FICO scores but if you know the average Vantage then you can at least compare on the same scoring system.

Forgot to mention i got 60k BA points from the maxed out card at 18 so when i get the chance, i have those to use. Not sure on what yet haha.

(as of 7/25/18) FICO 8 from Ex: 605, TU: 599, Eq: 584

(As of today) FICO 8 from Experian: 632

CK V3.0 scores, TU/EQ both 648

Capital One Platinum Secured: $250

Capital One Platinum Unsecured: $300

[New] Chase Southwest RR Premier: $2,000

I was extremely nervous and pretty surpised to be honest but i have 100% on time payments for almost 2 years so maybe that helped. Either way I'm extremely greatful, plus it'll come just in time to pay my rent this next month and get that signup bonus. 40,000 will last us a good bit since we take 6am 2.5k mile flights haha.

wow -- this is amazing!! I'm so happy to hear this since I really want the Chase SW Priority card and have similar DPs as yours!

Curious as to why you didn't go with the SW Priority since you're going to be traveling regularly with them? The $75 annual travel credit, 1,500 additional anniversary points per year, upgrades and 20% all more than pays for the extra $50 in AF

Honestly i was just worried that each tier i went up, the worse chance i would have.
However, i ready you can actually have the Plus, Premier and Priority at the same time.

So i think i want to get my score up, then apply for the other two next year Jan-March so i can hit both 50k bonuses so i only have 10k to go to the companion pass, which gives a free ticket for one passenger for the remainder of the same year and all of the next year. So if i can get it pre-March then ill almost have 2 full years.
(Unfortunately) i'll be hitting my bonus 50k way before December so unfortunately this bonus wont count towards the 110k.

We may have my wife do those though so i dont have three Southwest cards towards my 5/24.

Congrats on the approval and with paying down your card thus far! The new 2k will definitely help improve the utilization a bit, provided it's not carrying a balance.
