Penfed approved 2 Cards Same Day !

Penfed instantly approved me for the Cash Rewards with a Cash Rewards $2000 SL so I apped a few hours later for the Pathfinder card as I read around here they use the same hardpull for up to 90 days was denied about 10 minutes later after checking my account, called and tried to recon led no where rep didnt want to connect me to an underwriter. So a few hours later I decided I was going to do a recon via email and boy am I glad I did! Expressed why I thought I should be approved thoroughly in my email and clicked send. It was on a Sunday however so I didnt get a response as expected, got an email Monday a few days ago that my request for review would be sent to an underwriter and I should hear back in a few days. Got a call earlier today and was informed that they would go ahead and approve me! I was ecstatic, mind you customer service has been A+ through out joining Penfed and this really put the cherry on top. Only got approved for $1000 on the Pathfinder card, however the underwriter told me not to worry that my credit limit on both cards will certainly go up with time. Penfed you rock!

TL;DR Penfed is awesome and if youre on the ledge on joining them dont hesitate.

Welcome to the PenFed family. Those are 2 great cards. It’s a little bit of a learning curve at first to get used to paying your cards, depositing money, etc.. But nothing that can’t be overcome. In time your credit limit will most likely grow as they mentioned. Enjoy your new cards.

Congradulations on the 2 new lines!! I'm glad they are treating you well.

I am an Egyptian at PenFed and could never figure out why, Ive closed everything with them except my Power Cash Rewards and my Share Savings. After 10 years I'm moving along.

UPDATE!!!! They approved me for a $10,000 SL on my new card im not sure why they said it would be $1000 im not asking questions!! so happy

What is your score, any baddies, and what was the reason for the decline before you do the recon through email?

770 -780 Credit Score depending on bureau. No baddies. Util 8% when they pulled Equifax, initial denial was for to many new accounts opened probably because Ive opened 6 credit cards in the last month. Equifax had 4 inqs when they pulled.

CONGRATS!!! I'm a few days behind on your post, but was searching PenFed posts and came across yours. I just opened a sgahred acct and donated to become a member. I had to email them a copy of my soc sec card. They already charged my CFU for the fee, so I'm hoping the ID verification is just a speed bump. Should hear back tomorrow. HOw did you join? Through donation? Also, thereafter, how long till you applied for yournew cc's through them and did you do app them online? Dis they use the HP for both apps? I also heard you can open a checking acct on that same HP. Any advice? How do you like your card choices? Thanks in advance

I applied through donation as well. I applied for the pathfinder card right after I openend savings and checking. Instant approval for $4,000. I have a lot of inquires in the last 2-3 months and a lot of new accounts! Good luck!

I am in the same boat as you. Similar scores, a bunch of inquiries in past 4mnths. Are you happy with the Pathfinder card? Any others you recommend? You opened a checking acct and a savings acct on top of the donation share acct? HOw long after you became a member, did you open the check and savings acct? Then how long after that, did you app the pathfinder? Thx
