AMEX CLI FINALLY!!!

I was approved for an AMEX BCE last September with scores siting in 660-670. 61 days later tried Luuuuuuv button and nothing. I did this about 6 or 7 times since then and still nothing. It was a measly $500 limit but the other day I figured I’d try it again since I haven’t done it in a while and was FINALLY approved for my X3 limit. I’ll be trying again in the summer to see if it’ll go to $4500 that time.

If anyone is discouraged about them or a Cli don’t be it’ll take time and they will love you back.

Also have a gold card from them and a magnet with $2000 starting limit.

Yes you’ll get it! I used it heavily for a while and it wasn’t going up. I stopped using it for months and same thing until finally they decided to love me lol. My scores are 705-723 fico now. Went up about 40-60 points since approval of the card. Hope that helps a bit. Don’t get discouraged!

AMEX hates me for some reason. They've alwasy hated me and I've oddly given them no reason to. They approve me, but they give me hilarious limits. Then they never offer an increase. I never use their cards because of it. They just look really cool but are useless to me.

Oh well, they are only accepted by like 50% of merchants so it's not a huge loss. I've always hated how few companies will take them. I've literally pulled up to gas pumps that wouldn't take AMEX. I've been in small mom/pop shops that tell me sorry we don't take AMEX.

Anyway, congrats on your AMEX CLI. I gave up on them a long time ago. I have two accounts I simply keep open with them.

Yes thanks! I had that feeling but figured one last time before I gave up and luckily they actually start to show some love towards me. Could be that my file is getting a bit better. It was a wreck from when I was 18.... 24 now in the low 700s and cleaned up lates and baddies I had. So I have 9 CC and 2 installment loans (car loan/ personal loan)

You say you never use your AMEX cards because of the low credit limits, but isn't better to up your usage rather than stop your useage ? Maybe they don't offer increases because they don't see you using their cards enough, and not building up a spending history with them ? Anyway, just wondering if that might be a factor ???

Amex is rather generous when it comes to increasing your credit lines with little to no usage. Many other lenders, not so much.

Congrats! I got my BCE on 7/31/18 and haven’t gotten any love at all. Was your cli instant? I thought I’d have one by now. Today I tried it again. It’s been more than 6 months now.

You gave me hope. I will be patiente enough, hopefully I will start seeing CLI
