BMO Harris Cash Back Mastercard APPROVAL

New gal (sort of) here! I browse these forums (a lot), and have been waiting patiently to post until I had something relevant to the group. I just found out that I was approved for a BMO Harris Cash Back Mastercard. Just opened a checking account last week. Applied yesterday and was given a 3-5 message. Hopped on chat this morning to find out status and was told SL is $7000 which blows my next highest limit out of the water! I was SHOCKED! Card shoud arrive in 7-10 days. I've been using the "all cash" budget method for approx. 8 years, but am wanting to purchase a home next year, so I need to beef up my credit since I had no open accounts!

Here's the skinny on my ultra thin file:

AAoA: 11 years, AAoA: 5 months

They pulled my competely clean TU, score 744, 3 HP (all in the past 5 months)

Utilization was a tad high (31%) because my PayPal Mastercard & Kohl's decided to randomly report my holiday purchases before my statement cut!

I have these other cards: CreditOne $500 ($0 balance, will be closed ASAP!), Capital One QS $500 ($0 balance), Overstock $500 ($0 balance), Kohls $600 ($325 balance...another mid cycle reporter! UGH!), PayPal Cash Back Mastercard $2000 ($1300 balance, mid cycle report!)

Hope this helps someone out there considering BMO Harris! Thanks to everyone who contributes to this community. You've been a HUGE help to me and so many others!

Congrats on your approval! I would recommend doing CLI's on the Cap1 and Paypal CB once it's paid down. I believe both CLI's are SP only. Also, add cards that are worthwhile and beneficial to you. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you! I appreciate the advice. I just received a CLI on the CapOne so I believe I need to wait atleast 180 days correct? And the PayPal I'm planning on PIF and asking for a CLI in June. Closing CreditOne ASAP! The Kohl's and Overstock I use a ton every month but PIF to report $0, until this recent Kohl's mid-cycle update. I have no plans to open any others until late next year's Care Credit app for some dental work.
