Barclays approval

I have been in the garden for a couple of years, 2.7 to be exact, in an earlier post I mentioned that I had applied and was approved for an Amex ED, that same day I read that American Airlines were now offering direct flights to Dallas from my hometown airport. I figured I'm already out of the garden let's see whats available. I think you can all guess where this is leading.

Barclay's AAdvantage Aviator Red Mastercard with a $20k CL

They pulled my TU score only and that score is current in my sig.

SUB's were 50k miles after first spend plus payment of $95 AF

I was tempted by the Citi version as the earning miles through daily use are slightly better, but that welcome SUB was too good to pass up.

Can someone please point me back in the general direction of the garden please, I appear to have lost sight of it.

Your post reads like my future (hopefully). In 2020 I will be exiting the garden after two years, and the Barclays Aviator is the first card I will apply for. I know Barclays is rather skittish when it comes to inquiries and new accounts, so I'm hoping they like my zero inquiries and 2yr AoYA.

Did you get an instant approval or did you get the "UK experience" ?

Instant-ish

It took them overnight to process and then approve the application. That seems to be the norm these days apparently.

They never did contact me for any info, my first indication I was approved was an email saying "thank you for going paperless on acct #####" It wasn't until about two hours later I got the congratulations message.

Worth the wait though.

Awesome!!!!!! Congrats on the approval!!!!!! I was at a toss up between the Barclay sand Citi AA card. I know the airline is pushing the barclays in my area. There are billboards gallore and they are advertising it on the flights. My friend says they love barclays. They have that, and the uber I think. I dont even know if I would qualify for barclay with my current credit situation. Probably not. lol

They pulled TU on my report, it's a little higher than yours, but, we all know that isn't always the deciding factor.

A little higher? Sir by like 80 points lol. My last charge off is due to fall off soon 6y11m old. Hoping to see a sky rocket like I did with Experian. Can’t wait to be in the credit gods good graces for good. 4 years ago I started with 13 derogatory marks (medical long story) and Ficos of low 500s. I love reading about how easily you high scorers get credit. Can’t wait to be there. I’m only 26 with a fairly short history but I’m determined lol.

You've already come a long way in a short time, you are also about 10 years ahead of where I was at your age.

Oh, and we only make it sound like getting credit is easy, cos we've had years of practice on how to word things in our posts, LOL.

I still get nervous when I hit that apply button.
